Practicing your Game Plan throughout the Week

Developing your Game Plan


Get your Staff involved in creating the game plan.
Offensive Staff: 10 plays that must be run in 1st half (Stan Parrish) Defensive Staff: Create 3 calls per personnel group or down and distance

Game plan must fit the players


Scope of our game plan is small so our kids think less and play fast Enables our players to get more reps and execute our plan better Must have and practice a contingency plan!

Monday Practice Schedule


A. Go over scouting report in classroom

Tuesdays Practice Schedule


A. Fundamentals (Moderate Pace)
1. Specific to the game plan that week (LBs isolation blocks, WRs and press man coverage) Four drills approximately 5 minutes a piece in duration

Front Six & Secondary Period Two (Moderate Period)


1. Front Six Blocking Schemes (21 personnel), fronts, stunts, & blitzes Route combinations vs. coverage or coverage adjustments 12 15 minutes in duration
(21) personnel grouping or down/distance Practice most dangerous plays vs. fronts, blitzes, & coverages 20 minutes in duration

1. Pass Skelly 7 on 7 (3 4 route combinations against our coverages) Pass Rush Defensive Line and LBs (Optional) against offensive lineman (Make sure to run fronts, stunts, & blitzes that will be called against personnel grouping. 8 10 minutes in duration
