Maruti Suzuki is India and Nepal's number one leading automobile manufacturer Maruti Udyog Limited (MUL) was

established in February 1981 The company exports more than 50,000 cars annually and has an extremely large domestic market in India selling over 730,000 cars annually.

It has a market share of 44.9% of the Indian passenger car market as of March 2011 It was the first company in India to mass-produce and sell more than a million cars. It is the market leader in India, and on 17 September 2007, Maruti Udyog Limited was renamed as Maruti Suzuki India Limited. The company's headquarters are located in New Delhi

Maruti Suzuki exports, entry-level models across the globe to over 120 countries and the focus has been to identify new markets.

The star performer has been A-Star which is also the fifth World Strategic Model by Suzuki. A-star, as a Made-in-India car, represents Maruti Suzuki aspirations as an Indian company to emerge as a global hub for manufacturing and exporting small cars. Alto and M800 are the other most popular models in the overseas market.. Milestones: 1. MSIL Receives Gold Trophy for "Top Exporter for the Year 2008-09" for the Northern region. 2. Gurgaon and manesar

Maruti Suzuki has two state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities in India. The first facility is at Gurgaon spread over 300 acres and the other facility is at Manesar, spread over 600 acres in North India.

K- series Plant
The Gurgaon facilities also houses the 'K' Engine Plant. Commissioned in 2008, the K-series engine plant has an installed capacity of 500,000 units.

K-series engines are available in 1 litre and 1.2 litre capacities. The highly fuel efficient, technologically advanced K series engines have been very well appreciated by our customers for their performance

Maruti Udyog limited (MUL) is in a leadership position in the market with a market share of 48.74 Major strength of MUL is having largest network of dealers and after sales service centers in the country. Good promotional strategy is adopted by MUL to transfer its thoughts to the people about its products. Maruti Suzuki recorded highest number of domestic sales with 9,66,447 units from 7,65,533 units in the previous fiscal.

Has good product lines with good fuel efficiency like Maruti Swift, Diesel, Alto etc Alto still beats the small car segment with highest number of sales MUL is the first automobile company to start second hand vehicle sales through its True-value entity. MUL has good market share and hence its after sales service is a major revenue contributor

Maruti Suzuki has adopted a CSR policy, which serves as a guiding tool for the management and the employees in steering Maruti Suzuki towards long term sustained growth in harmony along with the interests of the stakeholder.

The role of the CSR department is to professionalize CSR activities in Maruti Suzuki and strengthen the mechanisms involving the activities. The 14-day-long strike at Maruti Suzuki India's Manesar plant has been called off this morning following agreement between the management, workers and the Haryana Government. loss of 12,600 cars, which were valued at about Rs 630 crore. From August 29, the company witnessed a 33-day standoff when the management prevented workers from entering the plant without signing a 'good conduct bond'.
