In order to gather a wider range of results to draw upon, I created three separate questionnaires. One for the music video, one for the digipack and one for the webpage. In this PowerPoint Ill gather the results and draw conclusive feedback from each area.
The wide range of categories that Ive supplied in this question is helpful, as I can differ which age they are. Our target audience is mainly between 15 and 18.
This rating system allows me to gather whether the music video was understandable, the audience have a flexible choice of answer, encouraging them to be as honest as possible.
This rating system allows me to gather conclusive data on how much they enjoyed the music video.
This comment box leaves the audience to answer freely without restriction. From this, I can gather honest data for evaluation.
Hopefully, from these comment boxes I can quote the audience and use them constructively in my analysis.
Unlike vague questionnaires, Ive included an alternative option, instead of just Yes and No. Leading on from this, they can explain their decision. Especially if they chose the alternative question, they have a chance to share their opinion.
Representation is a crucial part of the music video as its something that allows the audience to understand how society views them.
To finish the questionnaire the audience have freedom to deliver their opinion of improvement, which is also useful because we can see where we went right and where we went wrong.
These questions focus on specific qualities that the music video aims to achieve, also Ive left a few comment boxes to allow audience feedback to answer freely and truthfully, rather than just tick the boxes offered. Also, especially because audience feedback is the key thing, I can quote what the audience respond in the comment boxes. In this questionnaire, Ive tried to keep the options as wide ranged as possible so that the results can be conclusively drawn upon. I aim to get at least 10 people to answer each questionnaire to give me enough data to analyse.
The data shows that out of the 10 that answered this questionnaire, 7 were female and 3 were male. Considering our music video aimed for the target audience of mostly males, and the minority of females; this specific questionnaire will not be able to show us a response of the male audience to its full potential, as there is an imbalance in the source. This can restrain my understanding of what the male audience thought of the music video, as we can only draw upon 30% of the results.. However, in a positive light, having a higher number of the female gender answering the questionnaire can allow us to find out whether or not our video appealed to the female gender in the way that we had planned.
The results show that 100% of everyone that answered the questionnaire were between the age of 15 and 18, which includes our target audience (15-20). This is good, because (despite the gender difference) all of the information given is valuable to us.
The results from this question show that 99% rated the music video excellent in terms of how much they enjoyed it. This question supports that the music video was enjoyable to watch by our audience, and was given top ratings. Through the course of the questionnaire we will ask for an explanation of their opinion, to then unravel which features of our music video heightened its ratings and general enjoyment. Also, looking back on the previous answers given we now know that perhaps (apart from the 1 good+ rating) the female 70% as a whole rated the music video with high scores and therefore enjoyed the music video. Somewhat answering our question on whether or not our production would appeal to the majority of female audience members.
From the results, we can gather that over half of the people who answered the questionnaire had good understanding of the narrative. This is generally good feedback as no-one has rated the music video any lower than fair. Overall, the data shows that 80% had good understanding of the music video, and in the bigger picture - 100% (on different levels) understood the music video.
These results tell me that almost everyone held different opinions on the correct genre of the music video, apart from the 1 person who agreed that it was specifically a rock genre. This is a good thing because we can see, in the next question why they think that the video is alike or unlike other rock genre styled videos. Also, it means that weve achieved more than one audience as 9 people have chosen other alternative options for the genre, this could mean that our audience range has broadened and people who are fans of other genres feel that they can interpret our video.
This question will define the age range that we are responding to as our target audience are within a specific bracket, so we aim to have the 15 18 column chosen mainly, as this is the bulk of our audience range.
Here Ive given a wide range of choices to rate the understanding of our webpage, the audience can answer as truthfully as possible, as the choices are specific and all options possible are available.
This question will tell me whether or not our intentions of genre-type were successful and whether or not we reached out to a wider audience. The third option offers an alternative answer which, in the next question we will explore. Here, we will be able to view our audiences thoughts and responses to the webpage and see whether or no they exceeded their rock genre target. Here, we can also understand why some may have put to a certain extent, as they may have a more interesting, varied answer.
Again, Ive offered the alternative To a certain extent to allow the audience to be as honest as possible with the questionnaire. Here we can also engage the responders to think about their response instead of just selecting yes or no.
Again, from this comment box we will gain information and explanation on how and why the audience thought the chosen response. From this we can draw conclusive evidence on what was successful or unsuccessful in our webpage.
Here we can visualise just how effective the navigation on our webpage was, in the view of our audience. We can gather honest, specific results from this question.
Here is a specific question for the audience to answer directly with no lead from us (yes, no, to a certain extent option) this way the responses are pure and straight from the minds of our audience, without our direction or options.
Here we can see what was good about our webpage as a whole and what didnt prove successful in the eyes of our audience. We can also see genuine feedback from our audience to draw upon.

The results of this question show that half of people who were answering this questionnaire were male, while the rest were female. This perfect balance of the genders will result in varied responses that I can draw upon without having to worry about the information being too one-sided to a specific gender. A benefit of having a balanced response throughout this questionnaire would be that I can understand whether or not the female audience will respond differently to the male audience (as our target audience is typically male, but we did not rule out any female audience) and I wanted to gather an idea on what they liked and what was ineffective to them, as a way of improvement. The same applies to the male feedback. However, a negative of equal gender responses is that I wont be able to fully grasp the main target audience feedback potential as I would have done if the male response count would have been slightly larger than the female responses.

The results show that nearly all the audience members were of the age-group that we had predicted, apart from the 1 person who is aged between 19 to 25. Apart from the 1, which could possibly be a 19 year old or 20 year old; which is still within our target audience age range. I can still draw conclusively on the feedback given as its only a small percent that brings uncertainty. This is a good age range total, as the majority of the audience are within the bracket of our target audience
Webpage feedback
Here I can see that the majority of the responders thought that our webpage had good understanding this is a great response as it reassures us that this may mirror many thoughts of our whole target audience. However, 20% of the audience rated the understanding of the webpage as well understanding which is still a good response but not the best. This means that perhaps the understanding in our webpage could have been better, and more understandable for all viewers. Despite this, one could suggest that the 20% that chose this rating could be (by equal chance) the female audience, of whom may not relate to the webpage as much as the male audience would as it was not directly aimed at them. Female audience members fall into our niche category.
Webpage feedback
The feedback to this answer is interesting, as we have a mixed range of responses, which is always a good thing, as we are exposed to a diversity of different views and opinions within our target audience. This will allow us to know our target audience better, in knowing what they consider rock and what they familiarise with the rock conventions. The fact that 3 people have chosen to a certain extent to describe the similarity between that and another rock webpage, is good as they have a mixed opinion that could prove very important to us. Furthermore, they could suggest that we are like other rock webpage's in that we generate traditional rock conventions, but we are unlike other rock webpage's in that we are unique and hold a different stance among them. Also, the majority of the audience agreed that our webpage was similar to other rock webpage's which means that weve held a solid placement within the rock genre. We will, in response to the next question, understand this data.

The response to the question shows that 90% thought that the webpage suited the band image, and that 10% (1 person) believed it, to an extent. This a great response, as the band image is mostly suited to the webpage and our aim of holding unity between the three elements of our production (music video, digipack and webpage) and suggesting professionalism. This as a whole shows that the female audience (our niche) is mostly in agreement of the suitability of the band image with the webpage. So essentially, the rating of our band image is not bias, as the female audience were not even the intended target audience, but only a niche.

This data shows that the ratings of our webpage navigation were high and respectable, in that our whole questionnaire audience rated our navigation as good-excellent. This is a great response as the navigation on the webpage is proven to be excellent in the eyes of some of our target audience. The fact that our audience found the webpage easy to navigate means that the placement and simple layout of the pages, contact, links and relevant topics were easily to see and access.

This question will show which main age bracket is answering this questionnaire, we want a majority of 15-18 as this includes the bulk of our target audience age range.
Here gives a wide range of options for the audience to chose from, giving them as much freedom as possible. This question will show us the ratings of our digipack creativity.
This question will lead to a full explanation of how, if so, the digipack holds unity. Here theyll explain their answer from above and well be able to specifically point out how and why they answered the way the did. It will lead me to see what worked and what didn't in our Digipack, in terms of digipack unity.
This question also, will lead to a full explanation of their answer, which will give conclusive pointers of what the audience thought. This comment box will allow their full explanation which will broaden my understanding of how the responded to the digipack.
This question is straight forward and to the point, offering three options, which they will in the next question explain in further detail.
This comment box will give us sufficient information, in responses as to what they thought.
Here is a general question that allows them to be honest with their comments, compliments and advice this will give me a lead on what went right, what went wrong and what I could improve.
Digipack Feedback
This data shows that half of the audience that responded to the questionnaire was male, and the other half was female. This strikes, to a degree a healthy balance in bringing conclusive evidence forward, as there is enough of both genders to draw upon. The negative of having only 50% of a male audience is that theyre our main target audience, and I wont be able to draw conclusions to the potential that I might have done with 70% or more as a male audience. Also, with females taking up 50% of the responses, this means that we have too much information on females, which is unnecessary as the female audiences are the niche audience in our production. Despite this, on a positive, we can analyse the niche audience and see just what it is that they think about the digipack and how it does/doesnt appeal to them.
Digipack Feedback
The data from this question shows that 9 out of 10 people were between the ages of 15 and 18, which is the bulk of our target audience. This means that, despite the unhelpful balance in genders; we still have the majority of our target audience age group. We can now analyse the results knowing that they are in the age category of our target audience. The one person that is between 19-25 could vary from between those two ages and is therefore inconclusive, but as it is only 1%, we don't have to take precautions when reading our data.
Digipack Feedback
On this rating scale, we have a range of different responses. Only 1% rated a low score of some on the creativity of the digipack, whereas the majority of the audience (80%) rated the creativity of the digipack as excellent. However, some will argue that perhaps the 1% that was between the age range of 19-25 and they did not appeal to the digipack, whereas the others within the age range and (perhaps) gender, did. Overall this was a good response from our audience, as they found our digipack creative, and it appealed to them in that sense.
Digipack Feedback
This question shows that everyone answering the questionnaire thought that the digipack held unity, which is a great response that proves that Ive done something right in order for them to feel the presence of unity in the digipack. Even an audience member within the 19-25 category agreed that group unity was held in the digipack which is an opinion that may seem less bias than the rest. This shows that group unity truly is there, for any age group/gender to recognise. In the next question we will explore the reasons for this and try to understand how and why it worked so effectively.
Digipack Feedback
Digipack Feedback
Again, there are a mixed range of responses to this question, which would be interesting to find out more about. The majority of the audience said that there was obvious band identity shown through the digipack, whilst 2 others agreed by to a certain extent which means that they have a mixed opinion on it, which we will explore in the next question when theyre asked to explain their opinion. However, 1 person disagreed, maintaining that they thought there was no obvious band unity within the digipack. Overall the results to this question have been good as the majority of the audience saw group unity, however, a few have different opinions on the subject. The results for the next question will reveal how and why the audience justified their response.
Digipack Feedback
Digipack Feedback
The results to this question give a diversity of responses, which means that in the following question they will all be explained. The positive thing is that over half of our target audience said that the digipack was similar to that of a rock digipack, whereas 3 people had mixed view on the matter and the odd 1% disagreed entirely. The next question will ask them to explain, so that I can gather sufficient ideas of why the audience thought this.
