3 wheelers are carried in specially designed HGVs (9 vehicle load) & LCVs (5 vehicle load). LCVs for distance < 250 km. Two tiers lower tier 4 vehicles, upper tier 5 vehicles. Steel trays made on load body floor to hold wheels. Wheels anchored with hessian ropes braced to load body hooks. Upper tier not covered.
Most damages in the south and east zones, due to terrain and trees on highways.
Suggestions on Improvement
Adjustable cross bar above drivers cabin to take the first blow
Upper tier vehicles preferably passenger or pick up facing backwards and positioned towards the driver side of the deck Bracing across vehicles with cotton straps shall reduce risk of vehicles falling off the carriage following accidents and lesser possibility of vehicles getting damaged by hitting load body due to transit jolts and jerks
Crucial Questions regarding Implementation/Results a. Glasses: Shall Piaggio face cost issues to convince manufacturer for adopting desired packing ? Shall anticipated results manifest considering distance factor of manufacturers ? b. Vehicles: What may prevent Piaggio to insist on covered vehicles for transit ?
