Infosys Technologies Established in 1981 by N.R. Narayana Murthy and six of his colleagues with Rs 10,000. Infosys has grown to a US$ 4.6 billion IT services and consulting company. Indias most popular and best managed IT company with its global headquarters at Bengaluru. It has a global presence of 65 sales offices and 63 software development centers in more than 16 countries. It has more than 100,000 employees.

Its Services include business consulting, custom software development, maintenance and reengineering services, system integration and business process outsourcing.

Infosys excels in people management. The intense focus on people and their skills has increased over the years. Infosys focus on people is a natural corollary of its growing business, which is a quality that often distinguishes it from other competitors in the IT services sector.

As Infosys seeks to transform itself into global enterprise, it has learnt that its employees have to be the best in the globe. While the selection is strict, in 2003-2004, it recruited 10,000 people from over a million applicants; training will keep it ahead of the increasing competition.

Infosys faces challenges of educating and orienting a large number of employees Ensuring that the Infosys way, a process-driven way of working, does not change, and extracting knowledge from all the projects.

Infosys Technologies has disclosed a Code of Ethics for its finance professionals and a whistleblowers policy to encourage and protect employees, willing to share information on frauds, but who choose to remain anonymous. The Code of Business Conduct and Ethics helps the company ensure compliance with legal requirements and the companys standard of business conduct. The code deals with aspects of employees responsibilities to the company and its stockholders.

The whistleblowers policy encourage employees to report questionable accounting matters, any reporting of fraudulent financial information or any conduct that results in a violation of law by Infosys, to the management even if it is on an anonymous basis. In terms of ethical behavior, Infosys has an unwavering commitment to best global practices and has been driven by its vision to become a global player. It was one of the first Indian public companies to adopt voluntarily the US GAAP.
