Course Synopsis
This is an individual research project in connection with a special engineering problem under the supervision of a faculty member.
Areas: mathematical analysis, experimental tests, computer simulation, hardware and/or software development, device fabrication.
Course Outcome
At the end of this course, students should be able to:

Implement the selected strategies and methodologies identified in FYP I Perform appropriate analysis on data and information obtained Design/simulate/develop prototype or model Validate the project output Present project reports and thesis Communicate and defend the project work Promote project work in a public forum (exposition) Demonstrate professional and ethical responsibilities and commitments.
Scope of work
Laboratory experiments/ Modeling / Simulations / Plant project Students are to explore research/design problems, build research/design objectives, apply appropriate methodology, analyse and/or produce the outcomes and report the findings. The project work must exhibit element of originality, which indicates the maturity level for the final year bachelor degree programme.

Progress Report

Students are required to submit the progress report on time to the coordinators:
Dr. Mohanad and Dr. Lukman
Pre-EDX is compulsory for all students (10% of overall marks) The best 10 will be chosen to represent the chemical engineering department in EDX Students are required to use the poster for a short presentation (10 mins) to report on the progress of their work followed by Q&A by a panel of internal examiners
Dissertation

BARRING OF STUDENT
Based on Academic Committee instruction and decision.

Barring from continuing the project Students shall be barred from the project on week 10 if progress report is not submitted. As a consequence, students will earn a grade of F. Students will also be barred if they do not officially propose the topic (fail to submit Form 2).
Barring from presentation Students shall be barred from the presentation if they do not participate in both the seminar and exposition. As a consequence, students will earn a grade of F and will not be allowed to submit their thesis.
PLAGIARISM
Plagiarism is the act of obtaining or attempting to obtain credit for academic work by representing the work of another as one's own without the necessary and appropriate acknowledgment. If a student is in doubt about the nature of plagiarism, he/she should discuss the matter with the supervisor. If a student is caught committing plagiarism, stern action will be taken against the student including dismissal from University.
