AFGHANISTAN Salma Dam : Ongoing


Salma Dam is multipurpose project to generate 42MW power and 75000 ha irrigation storage, water supply etc. Located in Afghanistan at Chist-eSharif, Herat Province (160 km from Herat). The Project envisages construction of 107.5 meters high, 550 meter long rock fill dam across the river. Other components of the project are Surface Powerhouse, Surface Spillway, Irrigation Sluice and Diversion tunnel and 165 km transmission line (110 kV ) .

Rehabilitation of Amir Ghazi Dam: Completed Rehabilitation of Amir Ghazi project involves Repairing of Dam and Spill Channel, Construction of approach road, Construction of control room, Construction of supply canal and other repair works. Supplying 6 nos. Dumpers and 2 nos. Excavators for the execution of the project.

AFGHANISTAN Electrification of townships of Faryab Afghanistan: Completed in Three Packages. Province,

Package A: Complete equipments were supplied for 4 nos. Sub-station.

Andkhoy 110 kV switching Station, complete equipments including SF6, CB, CTs, Las, Isolators and structural materials.
3 nos. 110/20 kV, Sub-Stations at Mymana, Jumabazar, and Faizabad, with 2x16 MVA, 2x4 MVA and 2x10 MVA power transformers respectively, along with complete equipments.
Package B: Complete equipments were supplied including ACSR conductor,

steel structure, steel tubular poles, insulators etc. for (i) 130 kms, 110 kV line from Andkhoy to Myamana, (ii) 200 kms, 20 kV line materials for Mymana, Jumabazar, Faizabad towns, (iii) 125 kms, 400 Volt line materials.
Package C: Supplied complete material including L.T. Panels, 20 kV switch fuse

units for 20/0.400 kV, 20 nos. 630 kVA, 12 nos. 400 kVA indoor distribution sub-stations, 12 nos. 250 kVA and 20 nos. 160 kVA, out door distribution sub-stations.

World Bank-funded Emergency Irrigation Rehabilitation Project (EIRP) under MEW, GOIRA in in Faryab, Jawzjan, Saripul, Balkh

and Samangan Provinces for

i. Pre-feasibility studies for about 22 sites in the closed River Basins in the northern part of the Afghanistan ii. Feasibility studies for about 10 best-ranked sites out of these 22 Objective :- Irrigation Facilities, Micro & Minihydropower and Flood Protection Works.
