About the Film

Chak De! India made its theatrical debut in India on 10th July 2007.
The film was produced by Yash Raj Films. Directed by Smimit Amin The film featured Shah Rukh Khan as the male lead with supporting performances by Vidya Malwade, Chitrashi Rawat , Shilpa Shukla and Sagarika

Ghatge. The Film was produced with a budget of Rs.25 crore. Chak De! Grossed over Rs.100 Cr at the Box Office, it was the third highest grossing Bollywood film in 2007. Chak De! received critical acclaim both in India and overseas.

Synopsis
The plot of the film revolves around the Indian National Womens hokey team.
The team is in complete disarray with just a few months remaining until the start of the WC. Kabir Khan, a former hokey player and captain of the mens hokey team volunteers to coach them.

Khans aims to redeem his respect and image which was tainted seven years ago when he was falsely accused of fixing the final match of the Hokey World Cup against Pakistan.
Under Kabir Khans coaching, the team overcomes personal prejudices, regional discrimination and sexism to gel as a team.

They outperform their competitors and win the world cup.


The film highlights the importance of traits such as leadership, motivation, unity, hard work and discipline which are essential for any group to achieve success as a team.

Discipline is essential when working as a team. In the film the coach brings in strict discipline among team members. He sets an example for others when he stops a star player (Sabbarwal) to join

the camp when she is late. Lack of discipline results in improper functioning of a team. It is necessary to keep team members under control.

LOVE FOR THE NATION

Nationalism is the love for one's country and the willingness to defend it. Nationalist rejoice in the glory of their country. It nurtures fellow feeling and brotherhood among the people. Nationalism imparts extraordinary courage and boldness to ordinary men and women. They accomplish daring acts beyond their normal power. It inspires the people for noble deeds. Love for one's country means a regard for the country's welfare. A nationalist loves not only his country but also people of his country.

UNITY

Unity is the key. Whether were talking about a sports team, work team, school team, its essential that we get everyone on the TEAM moving in the right direction. Unity happens when leaders are committed to and engaged in the process of building a united, winning team. Unity occurs when team members care more about the vision, purpose and health of the organization than they do their own personal agenda. Unity happens when each person on the team can clearly see how their personal vision and effort contributes to the overall vision and success of the team.

MOTIVATION

Motivation that is driven by an interest or enjoyment in the task itself, and exists within the

individual rather than relying on any external pressure. Intrinsic motivation is based on taking pleasure in an activity rather than working towards an external reward.
Students who are intrinsically motivated are more likely to engage in the task willingly as well

as work to improve their skills, which will increase their capabilities. Students are likely to be intrinsically motivated if they attribute their educational results to factors under their own control believe they have the skill that will allow them to be effective agents in reaching desired goals.
