HI-FI INTERCOM

INTRODUCTION
Intercom is a connecting device on a network. It has the facility to call someone in another room through this circuit. If we want to talk someone in another room or neighbouring house.Switch 1 to call position and apply power.Immediately the speaker in another room start beeping. After the receiver in another room is picked up,switch 1 of the circuit should be turned to call position and we come to know that receiver has been picked up now switch 1 to speak position to start conversation.

Condenser microphone
An electret microphone is a type of condenser microphone, which eliminates the need for a polarizing power supply by using a permanently charged material. An electret is a stable dielectric material with a permanently embedded static electric charge (which, due to the high resistance and chemical stability of the material, will not decay for hundreds of years). The name comes from electrostatic and magnet; drawing analogy to the formation of a magnet by alignment of magnetic domains in a piece of iron. Electrets are commonly made by first melting a suitable dielectric material such as a plastic or wax that contains polar molecules, and then allowing it to re-solidify in a powerful electrostatic field. The polar molecules of the dielectric align themselves to the direction of the electrostatic field, producing a permanent electrostatic "bias". Modern electret microphones use PTFE plastic, either in film or solute form, to form the electret

Speaker

A loudspeaker (or "speaker") is an electroacoustic transducer that produces sound in response to an electrical audio signal input. Non-electrical loudspeakers were developed as accessories to telephone systems, but electronic amplification by vacuum tube made loudspeakers more generally useful. The most common form of loudspeaker uses a paper cone supporting a voice coil electromagnet acting on a permanent magnet, but many other types exist. Where accurate reproduction of sound is required, multiple loudspeakers may be used, each reproducing a part of the audible frequency range. Miniature loudspeakers are found in devices such as radio and TV receivers, and many forms of music players. Larger loudspeaker systems are used for music, sound reinforcement in theatres and concerts, and in public address systems.

ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES

ADVANTAGES : Simple And Efficient Circuit. Working Requirement Is Easily Met. No Instant And Direct Manual Operation Is Needed. Consumes Very Small Amount Of Power For Operation. Multiway, multipost communication. A Very Practical Device. DISADVANTAGES : It works on limited distance. Cost of microphone is little high.

Application
Works as a connecting device. Makes communication easy. Used in offices, hospitals, hotels. Can also be used as security reason.

WORKING PRINCIPLE
It connects two people in different room It helps to connect from one building to another building It is based on sending and receiving of radio signal.the door unit is mostly fixed outside the door gate and is made up of a microphone with speaker with a push button for pressing.the master unit on the other hand is fixed inside the house.in addition to door models, intercom is seen with more advance

Future implementation
Supports most types of military, commercial and PMR radio transceivers. Advanced remote control capability for radio transceivers. Data interface option. User friendly user interface similar to mobile phones.
