Company History
LSIL is part of the Lloyds group, which was established in 1974. The company is a manufacturer of iron and steel products and heavy engineering equipments. It also undertakes turnkey projects. LSILs steel plant is located in Wardha district, which enjoys proximity to power generation plants, coal belt and iron ore mines, including those allotted to the Lloyds group. Its offering mix comprises of cold rolled coils/ sheets, hot rolled coils/ sheets, steel pipes, boilers and others. The companys engineering division was established in 1974 at Andheri, Mumbai. It was later converted into heavy fabrication, machine building unit and shifted to Thane. The company provides heavy engineering machines for various areas including hydrocarbons, oil & gas, steel plants, power plants and others. It's client base includes companies such as Indian Oil Corp Ltd, National Aluminium Co Ltd, Mangalore Chemicals & Fertilizers Ltd, Welspun Maxsteel Ltd, Brahmaputra Cracker & Polymer Ltd and others. LSIL segments its business under three heads viz steel products, engineering products and trading. In FY10, steel products contributed ~61% of total revenues, engineering products ~16% and trading ~33%.
