Abstract
Tesla turbine is a bladeless centripetal flow turbine patented by Nikola Tesla in 1913. It is referred to as a bladeless turbine because it uses the boundary layer effect and not a fluid impinging upon the blades as in a conventional turbine

Introduction
The job of any engine is to convert energy from a fuel source into mechanical energy. At the beginning of the 20th century, two types of engines were common. 1)Turbine engine 2)piston engine

Tesla's new engine is a bladeless turbine, which would still use a fluid as the vehicle of energy, but would be much more efficient in converting the fluid energy into motion.

The three key efficiency points of tesla turbine are:

The inlet nozzle Disk geometry The outlet nozzle

Construction

There are mainly 2 parts in the turbine.

Rotor:-In the rotor it consists of series of smooth discs mounted on a shaft. Each disk is made with openings surrounding the shaft.
Stator:- The rotor assembly is housed within a cylindrical stator, or the stationary part of the turbine. Each end of the stator contains a bearing for the shaft.

Methodology
The assembly consists of three main parts :1] The power unit 2] Paraglider prototype 3] Radio control unit

1. The Power Unit:It consists of the tesla turbine powered by an air compressor. The output shaft of the turbine is fitted with a suitable propeller. 2. Paraglider prototype :It is easy to build & easy to maneuver. A rigid frame is used with a suitable fabric.

3. Radio control unit:A transmitter, receiver and servo set of 2.4Ghz is required. The servos will control all the movements, including the throttle. It will all be controlled from the ground station via transmitter.

Advantages
Simple in construction. Corrosion and cavitation is less. Pollution free. Low cost to produce and maintain. Lower design and production costs than standard turbines, jet engines and pumps Blade-less High-speed (100,000rpm+ can be achieved)

Advantages
Low friction (uses boundary layer effect , adhesion + viscosity rather friction) Reversible

Can be run on a vacuum

Can be powered by air, steam, gasses or liquids Lower complexity the conventional Jet Engine Can be used as a pump by rotating the shaft

Advantages
Quieter in operation than conventional machinery

Noise is more white This type of equipment can be operated at a wide range of working medium parameters without any danger and malfunction.

It is not so sensitive to a partially polluted working medium, since the fluid flow is parallel to disks, so it can be operated with saturated steam.

Disadvantages
Low rotor torque Often not suitable for a direct replacement for conventional

turbines and pumps, without changes to the machinery it is interacting with. Proof of its efficiency compared to conventional turbines is still questionable and needs more research It has remain underdeveloped and hence design improvements are still being made
