How have SFMS Teachers Have Prepared Me For The CST: Ashley
SFMS teachers give us homework everyday. Quiz us every other day as well. And go over and over a subject until we get it.

Test Taking Tips: The Night and The Morning Before: Sara
The night before you take youre the CST you should eat a healthy dinner and go to bed early. The morning before the CST you should eat a healthy breakfast. Make sure you use the bathroom before you take the test because you cant get up and leave.

Test Taking Tips: The Night and The Morning Before: Ashley
The night before the CST go over your work you did in class. Sleep early so that you wont be sleepy during the test the next day. When you wake up in the morning make sure to eat right and go over notes.

Test Taking Tips: During The Test: Sara

If you are taking the English section of the test you should read the questions first before you read the text, so when you are reading the text you will find the answer to the question a lot faster. If you are taking the math part then make sure you cross out the answers that obviously is wrong it will limit the answers. Look for the clue words in the test, sometimes the nest question can reveal the answer for the one before. And sometimes the question itself can reveal the answer to the question.

Test Taking Tips: During The Test: Ashley

Dont get easily distracted. Keep your eyes on your own test. Eat before started so that your mind is focused.

Math Tips:Sara
Math is the easiest part of the CST, for some people. All you have to do is cross out the answer that you know that are wrong. If your stuck on a math problem put a minus next to the problem and go back later. If you crossed out the answers that you know are wrong and your stuck still and you have A&B pick A. 90% of the time A will be the answer to the question.

Math Tips: Ashley

Go over the same questions that you did in class before starting the test. The night before the test go over notes in class. Ask a lot of questions and tell the teacher to explain it to you.

English Tips: Sara

For English read the questions before you read the passage. Cross out the answers that you know that are wrong. If you are stuck on a question go back to the passage and read it again. Always read the passage more than once.

English Tips: Ashley

Go over all the words that you have been learning in class. Ask questions constantly as if you were just learning about it. Study the night before.

Bullets: Sara
I picked Algebra 1 because I will be taking Algebra 1 next year in 9th grade. Algebraic fraction problems do not equal zero. Algebraic equation problems look like this:
Reflexive axiom: a = a.Therefore, 4 = 4

Bullets: Ashley
I picked Algebra 1 because it looked easy.
Domain and rangeThe set of all x's is called the domain of the relation. The set of all y's is called the range of the relation. The domain of set A in Figure 1 is {1, 1, 2, 3}, while the range of set A is {1, 2, 3, 4}.

Same as 9th slide bullets: Sara

Coordinate geometry deals with graphing (or plotting) and analyzing points, lines, and areas on the coordinate plane (coordinate graph). Each point on a number line is assigned a number. In the same way, each point in a plane is assigned a pair of numbers.

Same as 9th slide bullets: Ashley

A monomial is an algebraic expression that consists of only one term. (A term is a numerical or literal expression with its own sign.) For instance, 9 x, 4 a2, and 3 mpx2 are all monomials. The number in front of the variable is called the numerical coefficient. In 9 x, 9 is the coefficient.

Example: Sara
2x + 4 = 16 2x - 4 = -4 2x = 12 2 = 2 X = 16 This is my example

Example: Ashley
If a = 8 and b=9 then what is 9a+12b? 9*8 + 12*9 72 + 108 810

Metaphor: Sara
Metaphor means comparing 2 words without using like or as. Metaphors will be on the test for those of you 7th graders. Dont get confused with simile and metaphor. Remember metaphor is no like or as and simile is like or as.

Capitalization: Ashley
Before you start a sentence make sure you capitalize the fist word. When putting a name is a sentence capitalize the first word to the name. When putting I in a sentence make sure to capitalize when its alone.
