CHAPTER 1 : INTRODUCTION

What is ACD/ChemBasic?
ChemBasic is a simple, convenient, and functionally rich programming language for the presentation and manipulation of molecular structure, related objects, and all the content of ACD/Labs current and future programs.

Why we have to use ACD/ ChemBasic?

ChemBasic is designed to:
automate routine operations within ACD/Labs extend ACD/Labs functionality.

A simple short ChemBasic program can:

retrieve a molecule from the ChemSketch window. calculate some molecular property. replace one fragment of it with another, and then recalculate the property. can automatically perform conformational analysis and depict the most probable 3D-structures for the molecules you indicated.

Converting to PDF
ACD/ChemSketch now includes a tool for converting ACD/ChemSketch files (.SK2) to the Adobe PDF format. As soon as you have drawn some graphical objects, you can try to convert your document to the Adobe PDF format. To be able to export to PDF from ACD/ChemSketch, you do not have to install Adobe on your computer, but to view PDF files you should have any of them. You can find the free version of the Adobe Reader in the ACD/Labs installation folder.
32

Step to Convert Document to PDF

STEP 1
Make sure that the objects and structures are arranged on the screen in the way you want to see them in the PDF file Tip Click Full Page to view the whole page.

STEP 2

Click Export to PDF . The program will prompt you for the location and name of your.PDF file.

STEP 3

As soon as the conversion is finished, find the newly created file and open it with Adobe Reader to view the results.
