INTRODUCTION
The expected area for the technical school to be constructed is situated in urban west Zanzibar near to the Mpendae CCM branch.
PROBLEM STATEMENT
Mr. Hafidh Mdachi has planned to construct technical school at Jangombe Zanzibar but, he does not have architectural drawings for the building to start construction.
OBJECTIVE
To provide architectural drawings of technical school at Jangombe Zanzibar.
METHODOLOGY
The following methodologies will be used in order to achieve the project objective o Literature review o Data collection o Data analysis
DATA COLLECTION
Data which are required to be collected are: Number of students that will registered Dimensions of the area for the school to be constructed Number of staffs to be employed
LITERATURE REVIEW
DESIGN Design is usually considered in arts, engineering, architectural and other creative works. The good method of designing is to consider all important things during architectural design. For proper design, the following will be considered; i. Ventilation ii. Economic iii. Privacy iv. Maximum utilization space v. Access to the space vi. North and south direction
DATA COLLECTION
For the drawing to be designed, the detail survey should be conducted, the detail survey consists of; 1. Dimensions of the site 2. Number of student to be registered 3. Number of staffs to be employed
DATA COLECTED
DIMENSIONS OF THE SITE
LENGTH(mm) 25000 WIDTH(mm) 23000 AREA(mm) 575,000,000mm2
Area of the school = 2500023000 =575,000,000mm2 Measuring tape was used since the area is in rectangular form.
DATA COLLECTED
STUDENTS TO BE REGISTERED At the first time, 60 students will be registered, this helps in the proper design of classrooms for now and future population increase. NUMBER OF STAFFS Number of staffs to be employed are 12, this also helps in the proper design of the staffrooms.
SCHOOL COMPONENTS
i. ii. iii. iv. v. Classrooms Offices: Head master and staffroom offices Stores Toilets: teachers and students toilets Workshops: carpentry and electrical workshops vi. Watchman house

DATA ANALYSIS
WINDOWS
According to the building by-laws the minimum window area should be 0.1 of the room floor area. Thus; Area of one classroom = 6.4m6.5m = 41.6m2 Size of the classroom =41.6m20.1 =4.16m2 Hence the design size for the window for each classroom is 2000mm1500mm. Each classroom will has two windows of this size.
DESIGN OF STAIRS
Riser height to used is 190mm Height of riser = 3.8/2 = 1.9m Number of riser = 1900/190 = 10 Exact size of riser = 1900/10 = 190mm Number of treads = 10 1 = 9 Size of going = staircase length/number of treads =2600/9 = 289mm Pitch angle, tan = Riser/Going =190/288 = 0.659722222
DESIGN OF STAIR
= tan (0.659722222) Therefore pitch angle, = 33
