CONCEPT OF SUB-CHANNELIZATION

CONCEPT OF OFDMA
There are three fundamental multi-carrier based multiple

access techniques for OFDM systems:

OFDM+TDMA OFDM+FDMA OFDM+CDMA

OFDM FDMA VARIATIONS

Among three schemes, OFDM-FDMA is the

most straightforward (a.k.a. OFDMA)

Based on allocation of sub-carriers
Block FDMA Random FDMA Interleaved FDMA

ADVANTAGES & DISADVANTAGES OF OFDMA

ADVANTAGES
Higher throughput & security Minimal delay per OFDMA
DISADVANTAGES

Strict

symbol of 300sec.

User symbol is several times

synchronization problem
Complex OFDM

longer then for TDMA systems.

Using the FEC to the outmost

electronics
Higher PAPR

by error detection of disturbed frequencies.

WIBRO-APPLICATION OF OFDMA
Major application of OFDMA Wireless Broadband Internet Mobile phone internet FEATURES:DUPLEX:- TDD MULTIPLE ACCESS:- OFDMA SYSTEM BANDWIDTH:- 10MHz OFDMA SYMBOL TIME:- 115.2ms

COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS

CONCLUSION
OFDMA surpasses all the other schemes in

terms of various parameters. So it is the right choice of multiple channel access schemes for 4G mobile wireless networks. Such as, THROUGHPUT, BW UTILIZATION, etc.
As a future work we can reduce PAPR and

improve error performance of the OFDMA using PAPR reduction techniques and diversity schemes, respectively.
