SOME LESSONS LEARNED FROM THE WORK WITH THE PRIVATE SECTOR
The structure of a public private partnership must respond to the interests of each partner, and it must, as well, generate a common purpose. The main role of IOM as a neutral partner in the structuration process of the partnership, relies on the articulation of a flexible and dynamic alliance in which the information, confidence and common objectives among the partners are present. One of the main objectives of this type of alliance is to achieve a proper articulation between the beneficiaries and the private enterprise, creating a chain of value that guarantees the sustainability and the development of the productive activity of each one of the partners involved in the alliance. The alliance must have clear and quantifiable goals (Social Balance), in order to control and evaluate its results.
The structure of the alliance must be flexible and it should be able to adapt to the dynamics of the project, generating synergies in favor of the objectives of the Program.
