Vietnam war opposition to it

The American public was getting more and more tired of the ongoing conflict between the nation of Vietnam and the United States. The opposition increased dramatically right after the DRAFT war getting more violent as the years went by. If you Peoples opinion on the DRAFT was negative and most of the them rejected it. This is because they saw that the DRAFT was more bias towards ethnic minorities such as the blacks and people who were not educated.

Iraq war opposition to it, what media

After the First Gulf War there was a UN mandate, this mandate was called the United Nations Security Council Resolution 687.
In 1998 the U.S. agreed a political act called the Iraq Liberation Act of 1998 where they called for a change in government in Iraq.

Iraq countered this by saying there were no weapons of mass destruction and that they were not allowing UN weapons inspectors as the 1999 checks included U.S. intelligence agents.

Vietnam (1960/70s) what media

BEGINNING: The media portrayed the war as an easy war and they depicted this to the american public because they underestimated Vietnam.

THE END OF THE WAR: The media helped to end the vietnam war because of the many thing that it published such as, soldiers killing innocent vietnamese people. They also televised the Saigon taking of the US embassy as a loss to the United States, this was a major turning point since the people realised that the US was actually losing the war. And the anti-war campaigns started to rise to such an extent that the government agreed to end the war.

Iraq (2003) what media

The media in Iraq by 2003 involved the us unprecedented media coverage, mostly by the fox news. Coverage became the source of controversy. Some of the reporters were casualties of gunfire by Americans and Iraqi. Propaganda and censorship became widespread.
"Now that the combat phase of the war in Iraq is officially over, what begins is a debate throughout the entire U.S. government over America's unrivaled power and how best to use it." --CBS reporter Joie Chen (5/4/03)

The fact that sometimes the media could be biased towards sending out a negative message about the war and being negative about it. This will move masses of Americans against the war.

The media helped to show the American people the many things that the government did not want to show, like the brutalising of the Vietnamese villages and also the fact that the war had lost its purpose and the soldiers were actually enjoying the killing of vietnamese.

In conclusion the media is a powerful technique to encourage people to buy or support different campaigns. Media can be helpful in many ways, however for me is that media is informing us about the whole world. This is because it would tell us about things that could be hidden from us. although there are also some disadvantages such as the information being biased.
