More information on the use of these buttons will be provided during your module-specific training.

The status bar is located at the bottom right of the screen and provides general information about the system and the current transaction To expand the system status, click on the down arrow next to the SAP system ID

Use the right mouse button (right-click) to view available commands for a particular screen and their associated function keys on the keyboard.

Logging off is a simple matter of closing the Window (X in upper-right corner) or selecting: System >> Log off from the menu.

Transactions can be accessed by any of the following methods:

Menu path -- allows drill-down functionality to access R/3

transactions:
From the Standard Menu Tree (System defined) or From your folder (User defined)

Enter the Transaction Code directly in the Command Field

Directly jumps you to a specific R/3 transaction. If at the main screen, the SAP Menu tree, only the transaction code needs

to be entered.

SAP transaction shortcut on your desktop

The following pages describe each of these methods.

Follow the Menu Path vertical slide bar by clicking once on the arrows or [+] next to the appropriate folders and expanding the views until the desired transaction is reached. Once displayed, doubleclick on the transaction to go directly to its initial screen. Drilling down in the SAP Easy Access menu to access transactions is very similar to drilling down in Windows Explorer to access computer files

Rather than search through the menu tree for your most frequently used transactions, it is possible to set up your own Favorites and add your frequently used transactions to this folder.

More information about how to create and add transactions to your Favorites folder is provided later in this topic.

Enter the Transaction Code in the Command Field.

If at the SAP Easy Access Menu only the transaction code needs to be

typed in If already in a transaction, placing /n before a transaction code will access the screen within the current SAP session Placing /o before a transaction code will automatically create a new SAP session and display the requested transaction

SAP 4.6 allows you to create a shortcut on your desktop which will take you straight to a transaction:
1. Right-click on the transaction line item for which a shortcut is desired 2. Select the action

Create Shortcut on the desktop

Note: The shortcut only appears as an icon on the Windows desktop

Use the logon shortcut on your desktop to directly access an SAP transaction
