An aging workforce support the need to better understand generational distinctions in order to support a productive workplace The generational research may contribute to a better understanding and appreciation on the differences and similarities among generations

To investigate whether these three factors; quality of supervision, working conditions and pay do influence job satisfaction among Generation X and Generation Y

Research Objectives To find out whether quality of supervision influences job satisfaction To find out whether working conditions influence job satisfaction To find out whether pay influences job satisfaction To find out whether there is any differences on job satisfaction between Generation X and Generation Y To offer recommendations for improving job satisfaction among Generation X and Generation Y Research Questions Does quality of supervision influence job satisfaction? Do working conditions influence job satisfaction? Does pay influence job satisfaction? Is there any difference on job satisfaction between Generation X and Generation Y? What are the recommendations for improving job satisfaction among Gen X and Gen Y?

JOB SATISFACTION (JS)
# Luthans (1985)- factors influence JS are pay, the work itself, promotions, supervision, workgroup, and working conditions. # Jenner (1994) - employees job satisfaction is an important technique for eliminating absenteeism, reducing turnover, and eventually raising productivity. #

QUALITY OF SUPERVISION

WORKING CONDITIONS
# Luthans, (1998)-said that if working conditions are good, for instance clean, and attractive surroundings, employees will find it easier to carry out their jobs. On the other hand, if the working conditions are poor like hot and noisy surroundings, employees will find it difficult to get their work done and thereby experience dissatisfaction.

McCalister (2003) studied the overall relationship at workplace that included supervisor & coworker support and examined its impact on work stress and job satisfaction he discovered that relationships at work considerably influence work stress and job satisfaction. GENERATION X # Generation X are placing a high importance on maintaining their work-life balance and constantly seeking for a balance between family, life and work (Gursoy et. al., 2008; Kaylene et. al., 2010).

PAY
# Lambert et al., (2001)found that financial rewards have a significant impact on job satisfaction and performance.

GENERATION Y # Zhou (2012)-found Gen Ys are largely dissatisfied with their work significantly more than their elder generations.

Based in our finding, only two independent variables proven will influence job satisfaction which are quality of supervision and working conditions that have significant relationship.

This research helps to enhance better understanding on factors that will influence level of job satisfaction between multi generational and have its contribution in distressing the level of job satisfaction.
