What Is Copyright??

A copyright is a law that gives the owner of a written document, musical composition, book, picture, or other creative work, the right to decide what other people can do with it. Copyright laws make it easier for authors to make money by selling their works. Because of copyright, a work can only be copied if the owner of the copyright gives permission.

What is Piracy??
Piracy (or copyright violation) means the use of protected materials copyright law without permission, it violates one of the original copyright owner's exclusive rights, such as the right to reproduce the copyrighted work, or produce work product that is based on the copyrighted work .

Importance of copyright
Copyright is given to the author according to the law, as soon as he completes his work.
In order to protect your own work and idea you need to register the work in the copyright office. Many copyright law infringing copies of entertainment files e.g. MP3 music files, VCD video files and etc. and software are often shared by P2P software. The act of unauthorized uploading of a copyright works for others to download may attract civil or even criminal sanctions. Unauthorized downloading of copyright works entails civil liability.

Copyright give huge economy impact on any country. Thats why several acts are created for this purposes. The Act: The Copyright Act of 1987 provides for copyright enforcement by the Enforcement Division of the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs, apart from the police. Copyright owners may lodge an official complaint supported by the necessary documents to the Ministry's Enforcement Division if they suspect infringement.
