DEPARTMENTS EVOLUTION
Originally the department comprised of Information, Public Relation, Sports, Culture, Tourism, Youth Affairs, Archives, Libraries, Archaeology & Museums Department. The Department was reconstituted on 6th March 2002 as Sports, Culture, Tourism, Youth Affairs, Archaeology & Museums Department. The Department was for the second time reconstituted on 1st July 2011 as Sports, Tourism, Youth Affairs, Archaeology & Museums Department.

Sports, Tourism, Youth Affairs, Archaeology & Museums Department ANNUAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME 2012-13 This Department has been allocated an amount of Rs. 425.471 million against the 27 on-going projects during current financial year 2012-13. An amount of Rs.259.529 million has been earmarked against 12 new schemes that have been approved covering Tourism, Sports, Archaeology & Youth Affairs Sectors.

39 are the total scheme having a total allocation of Rs. 685.00 million which is 0.9% of the total ADP, wherein 16 ongoing and 5 new schemes are due for completion for CFY.

ISSUE (1): NON HANDING OVER PTDC PROPERTIES IN KHYBER PAKHTUNKHWA

After the 18th Constitutional Amendment the Federal ministry of tourism stood devolved w.e.f April 2011 and the following assets/properties of PTDC were required to be transferred to the concerned provincial governments, but the same have not yet been transferred. a. Malam Jabba Resort Limited b.

ISSUE (2):
a. With the devolution of the archaeological sites under 18th Amendment 91 major sites were to be transferred, only 57 sites/monuments have been taken in possession while the remaining 34 sites/monuments could not be located/traced out.

b. Approximately over 3000 antiquities were not handed over to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government
