Example of Story (theme: World of Self/Family & Friends


A Box full of Kisses (Year 3) Synopsis : A father always punish his daughter for wasting a roll of gold wrapping paper. Nevertheless, the little girl brought the gift to her father the next morning and said, "This is for you, Father. The father was embarrassed by his earlier over reaction, but his anger flared again when he found out the box was empty. One day, his daughter gave an empty box of present to him and he got angry. The little girl looked up at him with tears in her eyes and cried, "Oh, Father, it's not empty at all. I blew kisses into the box. They're all for you, Father." The father was crushed. He put his arms around his little girl, and he begged for her forgiveness. Only a short time later, an accident took the life of his little girl. Moral Value: Love can be shown by spoken words and unconditional kisses, rather than gifts or material. / Love towards family

Example of the story (theme: World of Knowledge)


Title: Animals You Can See In The Zoo (Year 1) Synopsis: A story from a father to his son about his trip to a zoo and see animals such as elephant, lion, monkey, giraffe, tiger, alligator, flamingo and rhino. Young readers also can learn these animals sounds.

Examples of Stories (theme: World of Stories)


Ant and the Dove (Year 2) Synopsis: A story about an ant and a dove, in which the dove helped the ant by plucking a leaf from a tree and dropped it into the pond where the ant was struggling for life. As a return of a favour, the ant helped the dove from being shot by a bad hunter with a gun, by biting the hunters leg.

Moral Value: Every good deed we do for others will surely come back to us. The dove did a good turn for the ant. So the Ant did a good turn for the dove, in return for the dove's favour.

Examples of Stories (theme: World of Stories)


The Crow and the Pitcher (Year 4) Synopsis: A Crow, half-dead with thirst, came upon a Pitcher which had once been full of water; but when the Crow put its beak into the mouth of the Pitcher he found that only very little water was left in it, and that he could not reach far enough down to get at it. He tried, and he tried, but at last had to give up in despair. Then a thought came to him, and he took a pebble and dropped it into the Pitcher. Then he took another pebble and dropped it into the Pitcher. He did it repeatedly. At last, he saw the water mount up near him, and after casting in a few more pebbles he was able to quench his thirst and save his life.

Moral value: Think and work hard, you may find solution to any problem.
