ERROR HUMANO
EL ERROR HUMANO ES EL ACTO INVOLUNTARIO DE REALIZAR UNA TAREA EN FORMA INCORRECTA, QUE POTENCIALMENTE, PUEDE CONDUCIR A UN ACCIDENTE.
ACCIDENTE
ES UN EVENTO NO PLANEADO, NI INTENCIONAL QUE INTERRUMPE O INTERFIERE UNA SECUENCIA ORDENADA DE ACTOS, RESULTANDO EN LESIONES PERSONALES YO DAOS A LA PROPIEDAD.
INCIDENTE
ES TODO SUCESO RELACIONADO CON LA UTILIZACION DE UNA AERONAVE, EQUIPOS, ETC, QUE INTERRUMPE O INTERFIERE UNA SECUENCIA ORDENADA DE ACTOS, SIN CAUSAR LESIONES O DAOS Y QUE AFECTA O PUEDE AFECTAR LA SEGURIDAD DE LAS OPERACIONES..

ACTIVIDADES
Concepcin y diseo de materiales, equipos y productos. Manufactura, fabricacin y ensamblaje. Inspeccin, supervisin, pruebas y control de calidad. Operacin y manipulacin de equipos y aeronaves. Reabastecimiento y reacondicionamiento de aeronaves. Revisin, reparacin y mantenimiento.

CAUSES OF FATIGUE
Sleep Loss Circadian Rhythms
Individual Factors
Physiologic
SLEEP
A
period of rest of the body and mind during which volition and consciousness are in partial or complete abeyance and the bodily functions partially suspended During sleep the brain and the body alternate periods of extreme activity and quiet but are never Shut Off
Individual Factors
Physiologic
SLEEP
Normal adults are used to a single period of prolonged sleep (8 hrs average) determined by circadian rhythms Normal sleep consists of two states: NREM (non-rapid eye movement) and REM (rapid-eye movement) sleep Normally, 60 min of NREM sleep are followed by about 30 min. of REM sleep Most deep sleep (NREM) occurs in the 1st third of the night
Individual Factors
Physiologic
NREM SLEEP
Physiological and mental activities slow down (heart rate and breathing rate get slower and regular) Individuals do not dream If awakened during deep sleep, an individual may feel groggy, sleepy, and not alert for about 10-15 min. (sleep inertia)
Individual Factors
Physiologic
REM SLEEP
The brain is very active and the person dreams All major motor muscles are paralyzed If awakened during REM sleep, individuals can often provide accurate reports of their dreams
Individual Factors
Physiologic
SLEEP
Sleepiness occurs when body temperature decreases and awakening when the temperature increases There are two periods of normal increased sleepiness during a usual 24-hr day: 3-5 am y 3-5 pm With increased age (starting at age 50) sleep becomes less deep, more disrupted, and shorter in total duration 8 hrs of disrupted/fragmented sleep have the same effects as not sleeping enough time
Individual Factors
Physiologic
Consequences of Sleepiness/Fatigue:
Decreased physical, psychomotor, and mental performance Decreased positive and increased negative mood Increased vulnerability to performance decrements The average individual in the U.S. has a sleep debt of 1-1.5 hrs every night (7.5 hrs per work week)
Sleep Disorders
40 million Americans have chronic sleep disorders 95% are undiagnosed and untreated 20-30 million Americans have intermittent sleep-related problems Obstructive sleep apnea is more prevalent than asthma
Individual Factors
Personal Habits
Inadequate physical condition Use of alcohol, drugs, and tobacco Inadequate nutrition Inadequate use of resting time (off duty) Overweight and obesity Excessive use of caffeine Use of sleeping and stay-awake drugs
Individual Factors
Health Status
Acute upper respiratory infections Acute gastrointestinal problems Other debilitating illnesses Cumulative fatigue (inadequate sleeping) Emotional problems (family, financial, work)
Power plant or controls: Terrain or runway conditions: Object (tree, wires, etc.):
60,000 bird strikes 1990-2003 $400 m/year in damages Have caused 400 deaths

INCAPACIDAD SILENCIOSA
