About IIT-JEE
The Indian Institutes of Technology Joint Entrance

Examination (abbreviated IIT-JEE or simply JEE) was an annual engineering college entrance examination in India. It was used as the sole admission test by the sixteen Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and Indian School of Mines. The examination was organised each year by one of the various IITs, using a round robin rotation pattern Since 2013,it was replaced by Joint Entrance Examination, held in two phases. 1. Eligibility
In order to be eligible for the main examination, candidates have some criteria to clear that will be listed here
Category XII th % Req General category Scheduled caste (SC) Scheduled Tribe (ST) 60% 55% 55%

XIIth score of various standardized organization educational boards of India will be accepted.

Pattern
There will be two question papers and the

duration of each section will be three hours. Both the sections consist of three sections Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. The pattern of the exam will be objective type. The answers for each of the questions are to be recorded on a separate specially designed machine-gradable sheet of paper (ORS - Optical Response Sheet). A candidate can opt for question papers either in English or in Hindi.

Pattern
The Paper 1 which will be organized for B. E. / B.

tech. aspirants will be conducted in two modes. Paper 2 which will be for the B. Arch aspirants and will be conducted in Online Mode which will be a computer based test.

Validity and Toughness

Validity : The JEE exam score will be valid for

only the current academic year. Toughness : Very low admission rate - about 10,000 in 500,000 in 2011. The number of students taking the examination has increased substantially each year with over 485,000 showing up for IIT-JEE 2011. This represented an increase of 30,000 students (6.5%) from 2010
