Existentialism

A thing that is real and exists

The theory that humans are free and responsible for their own actions in a world without meaning. (Oxford Dictionary) Example: it teaches that God does not exist or cannot be known and affirms individuality and freedom

MAIN CONCEPT
Have free will Humans are responsible Decisions are void of negative consequence Each person acts and decides as an individual (grouping) The world is indifferent towards humanity.

EXAMPLE FROM THE TEXT


On their trip when her husband and children get out of the car to sighted, Mrs. Das sits in the car, eating snacks, she offers to no one else, wearing her sunglasses as a barrier, and painting her nails. Explaination: Each person acts and decides as an individual. Even though Mr Kapasi was next to her, she didnt offer the snacks to Mr Kapasi. This shows that Mrs Das is selfish.

The parents seem dont care about Bobby even though Tina already warned them about the monkeys.
