HOW THE ABSORPTION M/C WORKS

1.

Boiling point of the water is a function of pressure. At atmospheric pressure water boils at 100 deg. C. When maintained at high vacuum, water will boil and sub cool itself. The boiling point of the water at 6 mmHg (abs) is 3.7 deg. C.

HOW THE ABSORPTION M/C WORKS

2. Lithium Bromide (LiBr) has the property to absorb water due to its chemical affinity. At higher concentration and lower temperature LiBr absorbs water vapor (refrigerant vapor) very effectively.

HOW THE ABSORPTION M/C WORKS

3. As Lithium Bromide becomes dilute it loses its capacity to absorb water vapour. It thus needs to be reconcentrated using a heat source. Heat source may be Steam or Flue gases or even Hot water.

HOW THE ABSORPTION M/C WORKS

4. The heating causes the solution to release the absorbed refrigerant in the form of vapour. This vapour is cooled in a separate chamber to become liquid Refrigerant.

7ADCA PRODUCTION VOLUME [MT]

Why VAM Required.

To full fill additional requirement of -20 c Brine at production volume of 7adca - 84000 kg & 7acca 7000 kg. Existing +5c brine system two no. 90 TR Comp. C & D to be converted in to 20c system so we can get additional 64 TR. And in place of Comp.C & D, 216 TR capacity VAM to be installed. To control MD (225 KVA) of Electrical Installation, as if we have Vapour Absorption Machine that does not required huge electrical energy.

Full time availability of +5 c Brine (Incase of GEB failure as it is running on steam)

SPECIFIC FEATURE OF VAM.

Automatic step less Modulation (10% to 100%) No vibration, silent operation PLC Base operation

Historical alarm information (last 26 alarm)

Incorporation of modern Technique of maint. Preventive/Predictive & Programmed.

ADVANTAGES OF VAM
Energy saving (Rs 28.34 Lacs/Annum). Maintenance Cost saving Rs. 2.95 lacks/Annum GO

Use of water as refrigerant. Hence protection of O3 depletion with F22 gas.

Deliver same efficiency in part load operation as vapour Compression efficiency lowering down on partial load operation. Additional Investment of Rs.30 lacs can be avoided on

on -20 C.

SELECTION CRITERIA OF OUR VAM MODEL C213SX (Thermax)

Lowest Temp. facility (4c) Lower than standard design temperature (5c). Basis of 10% Methanol brine to avoid freezing in chiller. To avoid the corrosion due to ammonical properties of chilled water, high corrosion resistance tubes (MOC:SS316L) is selected. Operation in wide range of cooling tower water temp. (22c to 32c.) & optimized capacity at 29c. Auto regulation of capacity. Payback period (11.1 month).

Machine loading at different production volume. At 75 MT 7adca & 6 MT 7acca 79%-95% load At 100 MT 7adca & 7 MT 7acca 95% load

Energy efficient system (Rs 1.68 / TR) Annual Saving Rs 28.34 Lacs

Comparison with other location as per efficiency

PROPOSED BRINE PLANT SCENARIO:

Brine plant balanced TR after VAM installation For +5c system, Comp.KC63 A & B capacity Enhancement for 35c and two comp.C & D of +5c Conversion in 20c system.
