THE
GREAT
INTERCES
Why do we ask
in the name of
Jesus?
“For there is one God and
one mediator between
God and men, the man
Christ Jesus.”
1 Timothy 2:5
“Therefore he is able to
save completely those who
come to God through him,
because he always lives
to intercede for them.”
Hebrews 7:
25
“For the life of a creature is
in the blood, and I have
given it to you to make
atonement for yourselves
on the altar; it is the blood
that makes atonement for
one’s life.”
“In him we have
redemption through
his blood, the
forgiveness of sins…”
Ephesians 1:
7
“We have this hope as an anchor for
the soul, firm and secure. It enters
the inner sanctuary behind the
curtain, where Jesus, who went
before us, has entered on our behalf.
He has become a high priest
forever, in the order of Melchizedek.”
Hebrews 6: 19-
20
“Therefore, brothers, since we have
confidence to enter the Most Holy Place
by the blood of Jesus, by a new and
living way opened for us through the
curtain, that is, his body, and since we
have a great priest over the house of
God, let us draw near to God with
sincere heart in full assurance of faith,
having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse
us from a guilty conscience and having
our bodies washed with pure water.”
Hebrews 10: 19-
“But the Counselor, the Holy
Spirit, whom the Father will
send in my name, will teach
you all things and will remind
you of everything I have said
to you.”
John 14: 26
“In the same way, the Spirithelps us in our
weaknesses. We do not know what we
ought to pray for, but the Spirit
himself intercedes for us with
groans that words cannot express. And
he who searches our hearts knows the
mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit
intercedes for the saints in
accordance with God’s will.”
Romans 8: 26-27
