Undulator Controls Scope


33 segments each containing
5 cam motors, 5 rotary potentiometers 7 10mm linear potentiometers 2 translation stage motors, limit switches, and 2 100 mm linear potentiometers 12 temperature sensors, RTDs Beam Finder Wire actuation controls 4 emergency stop buttons Controls hardware
VME crate containing EPICS IOC and digital/analog/motorcommunication cards Undulator Controls Module Interface, UCMI, for power distribution, RTD conditioning, interlocking Undulator Module Power Interface, UMPI, power supplies. Electronics Interface Assembly, EIA, cable junction box. 49 control cables, and 3 network cables

AC distribution

Controls software, EPICS, displays, data archiver, and alarms

Status

Installation is complete Checkout is done


All motors, RTDs, and potentiometers are functional and calibrated Translation stages have been fiducialized and checked for proper travel; limit switches, hardstops, and skew interlocks are set All BFWs actuate

Status

Girder motions checkout is complete


Selected girders were checked against alignment data to verify proper motions Physicists have also checked using their own software applications Every single girder has had an undulator rollin test on the Coordinate Measuring Machine, CMM

Controls software is complete, and checked out


All 33 iocs are online All devices are controlled properly All readbacks have been checked All required functions are available Software alarms are active Displays are available All appropriate data is being archived Naming convention fits LCLS standards
