were the U.S policies during cold war and in post era of Cold war era? What happened next after (9/11) and what were its effects on the south Asia? The relations of U.S., Pak, India and what concerns China? What were the major causes for the amendments in the US policies?

Amendments were made in the US policies after the incident of September 11. Before 9/11 the Pakistan was maintaining a good relationship with the America. Focused on the dramatic changes in the US policies, their evolution, reasons behind the stress that prevailed among the US and the South Asia. The US PAK relations, US India relations, the Pak china relations and the US China stress. Afghanistan is termed as a homeland for the Talibans

The drone attacks by the US and the NATO supply issues also indicate that the US Pak relations are also at stake. The US India relations have also been effected since 9/11 mainly in the area of military relation. During the cold war the US and Pakistan were having a good relationship and were against the close relations between the India and the soviet union. As a result of 9/11 it seems that the US was having the three main goals in the South Asia. Firstly the US wanted to prevent the war and tension between the India and Pakistan and wanted their cooperation against the anti terrorism campaign and maintain its bilateral relations with the two of the nations of the South Asia. Secondly, the US wanted to stop the conflict between the India and the Pakistan in terms of nuclear exchange and make sure that the nuclear weapons related material in south Asia is not obtained by the terrorist communities. For the long terms the US wanted to solve the Kashmir issue between the two states and preventing the creation of refuge from the extremist militants in the area.

As a consequence of the September 11th attack the Pakistan was targeted by the US against the campaign operation enduring freedom in Afghanistan. Two factors were playing a key role in placing Pakistan important in the eyes of the US these were: 1) The Pakistan was sharing a border with Afghanistan and was among the countries that has a diplomatic relations with the Taliban Regime. 2) Pakistan combined the two major threats to the United States: having perceived links with Talibans and the weapon of mass destruction

There are a great changes in relations with the US, India and Pakistan after 9/11. For the first time the united states is having a great relationship with Pakistan and India at the same time.

The war on terror and the Kashmir issue among the India and Pakistan turned out to be more complicated and heading towards the tensions among the two states

US should look for the ways to continue to built strong bilateral connections with India and Pakistan including the economic, political, and regional concerns. It should establish good relations with Pakistan and India based on their qualities individually. The US should have to revise its drone policies against Pakistan but a recent interview of the US defense minister and on the same day a drone attack indicates that the US is not going to change its policies against drone attacks.
