Challenge for Zero

Times Television Network, in partnership with DuPont, will examine the collaboration and problem-solving science behind the search for Shunya Can our nation feed a growing population with zero hungry mouths? Can we electrify the lives of millions without having a devastating impact on our environment? Can we build a sustainable infrastructure without compromising the environment and safety of our inhabitants? Over the next several weeks, this program will celebrate everyday individuals who are unlocking the Power of Shunya to achieve maximum progress with zero negative impact on our society Join us on our journey with our groundbreaking show, and learn why zero is the most important number for the future of India!

Inviting the best visionary minds of India to help solve the critical challenges DuPont and ET NOW invite you to participate in a television series that address key challenges the country faces, through your innovative strategies and solutions As the science, technology and engineering streams share innovations across sectors, the B-School students will help market them Students to send in their innovations basis the below sectorsInfrastructure Energy Safety Agriculture

Stage 2: Team Selection & Idea Development


Once the top innovations, innovators and B-school graduates are selected, the next step is to pair them up

Pairing will be done on the basis of the city, area of interest, and mutual compatibility between the innovator and the B-school grad
Once paired, these collaborators will be given a two-week window to develop their product presentations and business plans to present to the on-show jury

Stage 1: Call for Submissions


This is a call to entry for the best minds from Indias Business schools! All interested students can enter the competition by developing a marketing plan based on a given product brief on the microsite(www.powerofshunya.com), which shall be judged by an eminent screening jury on the following parameters: Market analysis (market potential, category trends, analysis of competition, product strengths) Business proposition (positioning and goals) Strategy & execution Originality of marketing idea If chosen as finalists, all business students will partner with science students to deliver marketing solutions to their partners cutting-edge innovations. All teams will be flown to Delhi for one week to participate in panel presentations. A prestigious panel jury comprised of well-known names in the fields of technology, management, environment and academics will evaluate the innovations and marketing plans. The competition will include eight preliminary rounds featuring three teams in each round, followed by one Grand Finale featuring the three highest-scoring teams in the leader board.

Stage 1: Call for Submissions


The selection criteria will be based on the following: Disruption: Does the project bring unprecedented innovation to the industry? How original is the thought? Is it a game changer? Relevance: How well does the solution fit the problem its solving? How relevant is it to the need it is addressing, and how significant is that need? Reach and Commercial viability: Does the solution provided have mass-scale accessibility? How large of an impact can be made? Does the provided solution make commercial sense if it goes into production? Use of Science: How strong is the application of science in the project? How does the innovation help advance its respective scientific field? Shunya: How successfully does the project embody the idea of Shunya? Does it work toward achieving the challenge of zero?

Stage 1: Call for Submissions


The winning team stands to win 10 Lakhs INR and a paid experience to DuPont headquarters in USA

The 1st runner up will win 5 lakhs INR and a a paid experience to DuPont headquarters in India .
2nd runner up will win 2.5 lakhs INR and a a paid experience to DuPont headquarters in India All expense paid experience includes airfare, hotel, and week visit to DuPont HQ Winners visit DuPont HQ for 5 working days Winners meet senior leadership on the science and the business side of DuPont Specific experiences would include: a lunch and dinner with senior leadership visit to DuPont R&D and Innovation centers, such as the DuPont Experimental Station (over 100 years old and is the birthplace of many DuPont innovations) a trip to the nation's capital Washington, D.C. mentorship meetings
