Race and Ethnic Groups are part of social organization.

Race
It refers to the classification of humans according

to physical characteristic.

Ethnicity
It refers to culturally define differences between

ethnic groups in society.

Race
is a socially defined category, based on real or perceived biological differences between groups of people.

Race as a Biological Concept is determined on the basis of a groups blood line.

Race
refers to a group of people with similar physical characteristics which is transmitted through heredity or at birth to a group of people.
-this is manifest in the shape of nose,

lips and ears, texture and color of the hair, skin color, height, blood, type and other biological characteristics.

Racial Groups
- are groups that are set apart on the basis of obvious physical differences within a society Different Racial Groups are the result of longterm processes in which characteristic condition caused specific physical traits to develop ain a certain group of people.
-Once this traits develop, they become part of that peoples gene pool because the individuals tend to marry one another and have a children with one another.

Race
When Sociologist talk about Race, they refer to a large number of people who, for social or geographical reason, have intended to intermarry and interbreed with one another over a long period of time.

Ethnicity
is rooted in characteristic associated with culture and heritages.
it involves a sharing of culture and certain cultural traits.

Ethnic Groups
it refers to a given population/group of people with homogeneous/common cultural background, traits and patterns.

they are identified by their cultural traits.

Ethnic Groups
G. Thomas theory of the definition of situation in ethnic group relations implies that, what is important is not the physical characteristics that identify a group but how much relationship determined the feeling of belonging to each other.

Minority Group
refers to a group of people that is numerically lesser that the rest of the population. they are non-dominant position, whose members possess ethnic, religious or linguistic characteristic which distinguish them from the rest of the population.

Minority Group

The member suffer various disadvantage at the hand of another group They are identified by group characteristics that are socially visible It is a self-conscious group with a strong sense of oneness They do not become members of a minority group voluntarily but are born into it They tend to marry within the group.
