Introduction
Aims of course: Full-time level 3 course AS = 1st year of course (qualification in itself) Successful completion of AS = progression A2 Yr1 = 2 units G451 intro to PE & G452 Acquiring, developing & evaluating practical skills in PE My unit: Anatomy & Physiology (Section A) Skeletal & muscular systems Motion & movement CV & respiratory systems (performance & healthy lifestyle)

Assessment Methods: AS (Yr1)


Unit G451: An Intro to PE Externally assessed written exam 90 marks available Two hours 3 compulsory questions 30 marks each (A &P; acquiring movt. skills; socio-cultural studies) 60% of overall AS mark THEREFORE: retention of info VITAL (tests & homework) Unit G452: Practical Skills Internally assessed; externally moderated 80 marks available Assessed in 2 activities. 30 marks each (assessed as performer or coach/official) Oral assessment on evaluating/planning for performance improvement 40% of overall AS mark
