Commitments from Various Sectors

Parents
Get proactively involved in our childrens lives. Be observant of our childrens day to day activities including their use of the internet. Keep ourselves abreast with ICTs so we will know how to set boundaries in our childrens use of the internet.

Teachers
Be patient and understanding to children. Pay special attention to disadvantaged and vulnerable children. Strengthen partnership between the home and the school. Integrate concerns on cyber bullying and cyber pornography in the schools guidance and counselling programme.

Teachers
Help build parents capacity to care for and protect their own children in light of the CRC. Make our schools child-friendly and respectful of the rights of children through reforms in the curriculum, school policies and practices.

Community/Barangay
Undertake community initiatives to protect our children from cyber aggression. Strengthen and equip the BCPC with knowhow on protecting children from abuse and exploitation while using the internet. Implement child protection laws at community/barangay level. Develop barangay database on children.

LEA/Justice
The Philippine Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) to provide financial, technical and intelligence support through case operations and special projects including cyber crimes and trafficking in persons. Effective investigation and consistent implementation of the law.

LEA/Justice
Aggressive prosecution of cases; close monitoring of cases. Public awareness and community education on existing child protection laws.

Telcos/ISPs
Make ICT safe for children. Install filtering software. Demonstrate social responsibility in doing business business to meet responsibility to respect and protect childrens rights.

Media/Civil Society
Intensify and sustain advocacy on child rights promotion and child protection. Ensure responsible reporting and coverage of child abuse cases. Promote counterculture of care and protection of children as against the prevailing culture of abuse, violence and exploitation.

Children
Be open to parents. Talk to younger siblings. Be a responsible internet user; avoid posting of obscene pictures. Support the BCPC in our barangay. Be an active advocate against child pornography and child abuse in our school and in the community. Be alert and avoid potential perpetrators. Report online predators to proper authorities.
