” Together we will be stronger”

The Goal:
To have holistically develop children in our
community.
Workshop objectives:

1- To improve parents’ knowledge on child

brain development from age (0 to 8).

2- To know the factors effecting optimum

child brain development.

3- Provide parents with some good

practices for helping the child brain
development.
Rationale:
It was clear that there is a gap between the
child's home, the kindergarten or nursery
attended by the child, where the differences
in many of the concepts, right and wrong
and behaviors, ……etc.
The child spends most of his time at home
as it provides for kindergarten / nursery
average five hours a day, while the rest of the
time it is at home and then come the need to
work with parents who are in the process of child
development.
Why is it important to work with
family?
The family environment is the primary source of
experience for a child, both because family
members (or other primary caregivers) provide
the largest share of human contact with children
and because families mediate a child’s contact
with the broader environments.
The target groups:
All parents having children in age from(0-8).
Grandparents , caring givers.

Why is brain
?important for us
We normally feel that brain is only
for thinking, learning and memorization.

BUT
We are not aware that the brain also
controls all the activities in the body.
So we can conclude that holistic
development of a child can only occur
when brain is developed holistically.
When does the brain start working?
 Parents views will be taken that when
brain start working?
 The brain start developing from the
time of conception.
 At the time of birth hundred billion
brain cells are formed.
 Between birth and age 3, the brain
creates more synapses (connections)
than it needs.

 Factors effecting development of brain:
1- Mothers health:
- Physiological status (stress).
- Nutritional health: (prenatal, Antenatal,
Postnatal).
2- Nurture:
- Stimulus given to a child
- Environment helps in development of brain
(synapses)
- Exploration.
- Love & care/ emotions - Young children need
safety, love, conversation.
- Social interaction
3- Nutritional Status of the child:
- Height & weight.
- Food & Hygiene .

What we can do at home?

We will start with a group activity

& we will divide parents
according to their children‘s
age.
Individual differences between
children’s brain develop:

Child development is often thought about in

terms of ‘milestones’. The amount of time it
takes to reach each milestone is different with
each child – some children excel in social,
emotional and cognitive development, while
others are much faster in terms of their
physical and motor skills development. It is
important for parents to remember that each
child is different.
Conclusion:
The development of a child’s brain
holds the key to the child’s future.
Although the “first years last forever “
in terms of the rapid development of
young children’s brain , the actual first years of
a child’s life go by very quickly.
So touch, talk, read, smile, sing, count and play
with your children. It does more than make
both of you feel good.
It helps a child’s brain develop and nourishes
the child’s potential for a lifetime.
