In ancient days a fresher enters into school(veda patashala)
some kind of rules to be followed

Ø should touch the feet of his teacher

Ø should respect elders
Ø should introduce himself to the class or school with
the knowledge up to what he gains
Ø strict rules implemented in reading, eating even in
walking also
Ø should avoid unnecessary conversation with others
Ø there is no system of senior and junior only who have
more knowledge he should tell and lesser one should
listen to him
ØPunishment is in such a way no other student shouldn’t
commit mistake again
THE BEAUTY IN ANCIENT EDUCATION SYSTEM IS ONLY

§Current education has more developed and more technical than
ancient times.
But unfortunately there is lot of possibilities for sliding towards
Butculture.
to bad at the same time we india became a one of the
biggest knowledge full human resource nation.

§we had. M. S. Swaminathan who made India self reliant in

food grains, Dhiru Bhai Ambani who proved a common man
can become a billionaire, Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam who dared to
build missiles for India, Pundit Ravishankar who is the
ambassador of the Indian music to the world.

Many aspirants are coming to become such a great

personalities.we have a provision in our education system but a
some reasons stopping them. one of major problem is now
RAGGING
 WHAT IS RAGGING
Ragging is
an :
vAny disorderly conduct whether by words spoken or
written or by an act which has the effect of teasing,

vTreating or handling with rudeness any junior student,

indulging in rowdy or indiscipline activities which
causes or is likely to cause annoyance

vhardship or psychological harm or to raise fear or

apprehension thereof in a fresher or asking the student(s)
to do any act
vperform something which the student will not do in a
ordinary course and which has the effect of causing or
generating a sense of shame or
embarrassment so as to adversely affect the physique or
psyche of a fresher or a junior student.
 MYTHS & FACTS
Myth :Ragging makes a student bold and prepares us for the
difficult
circumstances in Life. It makes us strong.

Fact: Boldness as instilled by ragging is a weak acceptance of

fate by victims. It teaches us how to be exploited and mutely,

Myth Ragging helps in breaking the ice between the seniors

and freshers. It helps in their interaction and developing
friendship between them.

Fact Ragging is an archaic method of interaction with several

harmful effects. Today with advance psychological science
there are many other healthy ways of interaction which are
more effective and without any human rights abuse.
Myth: Severe Ragging is not prevalent anymore.

Fact: Severe ragging is widely prevalent in most of the

college hostels. There have been more than 25 deaths due to
ragging in last 7 years. The problem is not yet solved, it is
just hidden.

Myth After the ban on ragging, colleges have geared up

against it.

Fact Many colleges now try their best to keep the incident
under the cover to save themselves from embarrassment and

RAGGING
§Promote alternative methods of interactions eg. Dramas,
community
work, adventurous sports, short trips, evening games and
gathering
§Each anti-raging squad allotted to college canteen
and busses to avoid ragging in these areas bcoz these r
the places where ragging takes place more

§This anti-ragging methods should be given to seniors in

a soft approach man has mannerism to do things the
things what not to do
§Weekly a interaction hour should be conducted to seniors
and juniors of their respected branches i.e., organizing quiz
,gd etc by senior students in presence of faculty.

§Organize an fresher's party to know about the juniors, I

think this much interaction is enough.
 CONCLUSION

At last ill conclude that ragging is an social evil, it will not

be encouraged any more, so my dear friends its not our
culture ,we shouldn’t adopt these kind of bad policies .
