In this PowerPoint, I will be analysing the responses I have received from the survey I sent out to approximately 20 people.

Age Range
I did not need to ask the responders ages as I only gave the survey to specific people I knew who were the same age group as me (16-17).

What bands/artists do you like?

What bands/artists do you like? There was a variety of answers to this question in the survey, but theyre all mainstream artists which I will cover, but Im thinking of also including promising, unsigned artists to get them known. As you can see the rapper Eminem was the most popular answer with 23%, with Dean Martin and Justin Bieber not far behind with 15%.

Again, this question also got a variety of answers. I asked this question to see what sort of things people like in general, and whatever answer was used the most would be analysed and I would see what they have inside it that makes it so appealing. Mojo was in 17% of the answers, which is a music magazine fortunately.

23% of responders said they listened to Rap the most, with Hip-Hop not far behind on 18% which was tied with metal. From these results I have decided to do a Rap and Hip-Hop based magazine.

How often do you go to Gigs/Festivals?
I decided to add this question to the survery so it could give me some ideas of what to add into the magazine. I thought if many people went to Gigs/Festivals then I could add upcoming dates into magazine. 42% said they never go to Gigs/Festivals, however 47% said they do occasionally, and 11% said they always do. So Im going to add in dates for upcoming gigs as a feature in my magazine.

How much do you spend on magazines a month?

How much do you spend on magazines a month? I asked this question to give me some insight into how much I should price the magazine, and how many issues I should release a month. 25% said they spend less than a pound on magazines a month indicating they dont really buy them. However, 20% said they spend 5.00-5.99 a month which is quite good and I think I should price my magazine at 1.99 and release the magazine weekly, or the alternative idea I have, which Im undecided about, is to release it monthly for 5.50.

What websites do you regularly visit?
I purposely added this question into the survey to see what websites I could use to advertise the magazine. Nearly half of the answers (49%) said Facebook, and 24% said Twitter. These are the two powerhouses in the world of social-networking right now, so if I could advertise the magazine on these sites it would attract a lot of traffic and a large audience.

How much money do you spend on music?

How much money do you spend on music?
26% said less than a pound which meant they didnt spend hardly any money on music, either because they illegally download it or they bought it cheap/second-hand. However, 21% said they spend between 5.00-6.00 on music, and 16% said they spent 10.00 and more on music. I asked this question to see how many still legally purchase music, and if I should advertise Rap and Hip-Hop music in my magazine which the price beside it.

I asked this question to see how people buy their music, fortunately 65% of people said they buy their music online, and the lowest amount of people (15%) illegally bought music. This is good to see because this means the artists who produced the music rightfully get paid.

What interests you the most in a music magazine?

What interests you the most in a music magazine?
Its clear why I asked this question because whatever people responded with the most I would include in my music magazine. Gossip and good content were said the most in the answers, which I will include. But the gossip will obviously be around rappers and hiphop artists and not the trashy gossip you see in Heat magazine for example. 20% said they wanted to see Interviews in the music magazine, which I will hopefully be able to do.
