Warm Up Helps
allow Oil Circulation/Lubrication the machine reach Normal Operating Temperature / Pressure with Internal component expansion

TurboCharger
Before Operation
Read the Owning an Operating Manual and perform daily maintenance inspections Set the transmission controls, Variable Shift Control, transmission neutralizer, and ride control to the desired setting for your application
24 D8R TTT
Start Up Procedure
NOTE: Do not crank the engine for more than 30 seconds. Allow the starter to cool for two minutes before cranking again. Turbocharger damage can result if the engine rpm is not kept low until the oil gauge display verifies that the oil pressure is sufficient.

35 D8R TTT
Effects of Contamination
Accelerated component wear Cylinder drift Jerky steering Increased fuel usage Possibly component failure Slower performance
(Fact: Hydraulic system efficiency can erode 20% before the operator detects theres a problem)
36 D8R TTT
Fluid Contamination: Hydraulic Systems #1 Enemy - Hydraulic System Experts say that 75 to 85% of all component failures is due to Particle Contamination and not a weakness in the system components.

AS A RESULT :
TODAYS FLUID SYSTEMS ARE MORE SENSITIVE TO CONTAMINATION:

Implement Control
D8R TTT
Help to reduce service brake temperature to increase. Avoid service brake early failure. Increase machine productivity. Improve fuel consumption.
D8R TTT
Moving machine in steep slope application Repetitive steering when doing work. Doing repetitive stop or at low speed application.
53 D8R TTT
Initial Penetration
Have a good initial penetration. Maintain the weight on front tires. Lift the bucket slightly. Avoid tire spinning. Always shift the transmission to first gear.
D8R TTT
Do not corner load the bucket. Enter pile square to the face material. Apply brake when changing direction. Always nudge bucket to shake off excess material. Clean any spillage along as you return to the load area.
D8R TTT
Loading Face
Consider : Blast Techniques Loader System Selection Pass Match Job set-up
Note: Enter pile straight-on, with bottom of bucket parallel to floor Operate in first gear, full throttle Limit travel to 1 1/2 tire revolutions Keep spillage to a minimum Keep floor clean and smooth Keep time in face below 12 seconds Maintain proper bucket and lift kickout adjustment Keep tight V loading pattern Maintain Good Eye to Eye Contact Work 1 1/2 bucket width dig pattern
Loader operator spots truck. Angle should be 45. Position for fastest cycle times. Loader cycle time should not exceed 35 seconds (dump, travel empty, dig, travel loaded)
D8R TTT
Loading
position the loader to dump the load in the center of the hauler body, if the hauler body is two bucket widths or more in length, dump from the front to the rear Operator controls dumping impact into bed (dump easy) Place material vs. dumping material in truck bodies Different loading tools have different effects on truck bodies Pad body floors with smaller material before placing in oversize material For good operator vision and loader stability, carry the loaded bucket low, approximately 40cm (15in) above the ground DO NOT contact truck side rails DO NOT push material in bodies
D8R TTT
-Utilize wait time to clean and level the work area -Maintain traction by avoiding excessive down pressure on the bucket
DOZING -do not doze with the bucket in the tilt forward position or bucket damage can result -keep the bucket bottom parallel to the ground when dozing
-Be certain that the bucket used is appropriate for the work performed. Exceeding the machine limits will reduce the service life of the machine.
D8R TTT
G.E.T. Care
Enter pile straight-on, with bottom of bucket parallel to floor Operate in first gear, full throttle Smooth steady speed Keep floor clean and smooth with minimal bucket contact Maintain proper bucket kickout adjustment Tips do not touch the floor more than 150 400 mm (6 16) before the toe
Clean floor while approaching face when necessary with minimum floor contact Rear of the bucket kept clear of the floor Minimize floor contact (GET will overheat and melt) Minimize speed Never operate with blunt GET or bare bucket ed
