Fixed Transpalatal Arch

Crown and Loop Space Maintainer

The Crown and Loop appliance is a unilateral space maintainer that is used to prevent the drifting of adjacent teeth in edentulous areas after extraction or exfoliation. Omega loops can be added for ease in adjustment due to shifting or closure when space permits.

Bonded RPE Palatal Expander

The bonded RPE is similar to the banded RPE. This appliance is constructed with acrylic covering the posterior segments, which is then bonded directly to the teeth. To aid in the debonding of this RPE, Q.C. Orthodontics offers the option of debonding loops. This allows it to be gripped and twisted, breaking the seal. Auxiliaries such as Face Mask Hooks, Cribs, Archwire Tubes, and Headgear tubes can be added.

The Clark Twin Block Appliance

The Twin Block was developed by Dr. William Clark during the early 1980s. The appliances are separated upper and lower appliances consisting of two bite blocks. The blocks are designed to interlock at 70 degrees such that the mandible is held in a protrusive position. Which in time eliminates the over jet. When acrylic is removed from the upper blocks, eruption of the lower first molars occurs eliminating deep bite and overbite.

This appliance provides and promotes the interruption of abnormal function and facilitates the establishment of harmonious functional patterns. It also provides an environment in which inhibiting factors are removed and which dental harmony can be achieved. The goal of Frnkel treatment is facial balance. There are four types of Frnkel appliances: Frnkel I - treats Class I and Class II Division 1 malocclusions.

Frnkel II - treats Class II Division 2 malocclusions.

Frnkel III - treatment of Class III malocclusions. Frnkel IV - used for open bites and bimaxillary protrusions.
