The music in the early 80s was in a state of flux. The music of Elvis, The Beatles, The Doors, Ozzy Osbourne was all known under the same name Rock n Roll, even though the styles of their music were very different.

Just as the 60s & 70s had adopted the philosophy of "Do What Thou Wilt" with the slogan "Do Your Own Thing"... The 80s did as well, just altering it to "Live and Let Live"

Sadly for all her praised popularity she was not a happy, peaceful person, as is the case with a majority of artists.
