Board Description(1/1)
APZ is the Central Processor of the BSC and the executive is running on it.Also called CPUB-A,CPUB-B.MAU Maintenance Unit board which controls the Switch Over. APG is a processor with a Hard Disk and you login to this from Local maintenance Terminal. From OSS you directly login to the APZ where the executive is running. All the database and backup files ,raw counters, command/user logs are stored on this card.

Board Description(1/2)
EPB (Evo Processor Board)is the capacity defining card for the BSC like CCP+GPU+MT120 in case of Alcatel and SPU,DPU,XPU in case of Huawei, all the functions like transcoding,CS and PS traffic is handled by this card. One EPB card has 2 processors with 8 cores and they work in N+1 redundancy. Out of the 8 processors 7(RP regional Processors) can be used for equipage and 1 is left alone as central processor. But the redundancy is achieved on the processor level not on the board level.EPB handles the CTH and GPH(CS,PS)you can configure one EPB for both CS and PS.

Board Description(1/3)
NWI-E Network Interface Ethernet Switch which is the interface between BSC LAN and Operator side LAN.It is the switch with provides GE interface for SIGTRAN,A/IP,OOS,GB/IP Evo ET (Evo Exchange Terminal) is the interface card used to handle TDM traffic for Abis Chains. Yellow fibers in the above snaps depict the Abis STM that are terminated on the ODF. SCXB Switch Control board is used to carry node internal control traffic and clock distribution. It is also used for connection with the slave sub rack. There two SCXB cards per Sub rack work in Master and Slave CMXB Component Main Switching Board provided the 10Gbps connections for the user plane traffic. The board works in 1+1 redundancy

BSC Logical Connectivity(1/1)

Multiple VLAN are required for the BSC IP connectivity. Some VLANs are for BSC internal connectivity with the different boards and internal processes and applications. The internal VLAN uses 192.168.x.x IP range. For logging onto the BSC through the LMT(WinFOIL),you use the following settings System IP 192.168.200.2 Subnet mask 255.255.255.0 BSC IP 192.168.200.1
