OB is the study and application of
knowledge about how people as individuals and as groups act within the organization. It tries to identify ways in which people can work more effectively.

Responding to economic pressure
When U.S economy plunged into deep and prolonged recession in 2008,virtually all other economies around the world followed the suit. Lay offs and job losses were wide spread, and those who survived they were asked to accept pay cuts.
Ex Rent-A-Car in 51year history never went for lay-offs even in 2001-2002 recession after 9/11 attack but in 2008-2009 enterprise was forced to lay-off more than 1000 15 employees .
