High angle shot the use of this makes Martha seem small and weak which reflects on the stereotype of women being powerless. Low angle shot this makes the man seem powerful which reflects the stereotype of men being the dominant one. Mid shot this shows how there are two guards with guns at the door behind Martha, suggesting that the area is perhaps dangerous which also indicates her weakness within the location.

Two shot the two shot of the guard and Captain Jack demonstrates how the guard is pointing his gun towards Captain Jack warning him and stopping him from stepping forwards anymore.
Close up the close up of the villain reveals his surprised expression when he heard what Martha said. This weakens him as he was not as confidence as he was before.

Sound
Non-diegetic sound: Background music At the beginning the music was quite heavy sounding, this creates a tense atmosphere along with seeing Martha walk into the room like a criminal. The orchestral music played when the doctor rises from the cage creates tension and also emphasises the defeat of the villain. Sound effect - when the doctor rises from the cage there is a mystical sound effect to accompany the imagery shown which suggests to the audience that the doctor is returning to his normal self. Diegetic sound: Dialogue My children this indicates his power as children are generally thought to be obedient and so in this case, it gives the audience the impression that the man powerful since there are many people who listen to his orders.

Mise-en-scene
Villain he is wearing smart clothing (suit) which suggests that he has high status and power due to the stereotype of men in suits. Woman (villains assistant) she is wearing a bright red dress which represents femininity and the sharp colour could represent power and also danger. Martha her dark clothing suggests her strength and juxtaposes with stereotypical women who are generally thought to be wearing brighter clothing. This therefore indicates that her character contrasts with stereotypical women who are usually portrayed as being weak. Lighting the lighting is much darker where Martha came from suggesting her powerlessness and the man who turns around steps forward and there is almost like a spot light on him suggesting his power over everyone else in the scene.

Props Guns are known to be dangerous weapons and so by having them in the scene, it suggests to the audience that the villain is quite powerful as there are several people guarding and protecting his place.

Editing
Shot reverse shot display the conversation between the two characters which emphasise the low and high angle shot of the two characters. This constantly reminds the audience who is in control. Cutaway There were several cutaways of the clock counting down to indicate to the audience that there isnt much time left which builds up suspense. There were also a number of cutaways of the different characters saying doctor which emphasises the number of people who are saying it and this creates a powerful effect against the villain. Flashback the flashback which demonstrates how Martha travelled in harsh weather conditions reveals her strength which contrasts with stereotypical women who are thought
