Somalian piracy: Acts of chasing, robing or attacking ships from or in the horn of Africa Somalian pirates have been able to travel very far to areas such as Straits of Malacca and India. Some people believe Somalian pirates are immoral people.
Other people believe Somalian pirates are modern environmental activists defending the Somalian environment and the Somalian economy for that matter.

In addition, the article states that the chemicals cause deformities in certain animals. Somalia relies heavily on fishing and on its domestic breeding of animals. The Chemicals have caused damage to the animals. Hence, Somalian fisherman have armed themselves in order to fight the contamination.
As a result, if the evidence is correct than we may actually be ignorant as we have a perception of Somalian pirates as savage extremists. If the evidence provided above is true than Somalian pirates do have a rational reason for attacking ships and hence the general mainstream view of Somalian pirates may be wrong. People could turn into pirates for other reasons such as poverty from the long Somalia civil war.
