Protocolos de acceso mltiple Un enlace punto a punto consta de un nico emisor en un extremo del enlace y un nico receptor en el otro extremo. Un enlace de difusin puede tener mltiples nodos de emisin y de recepcin conectados todos al mismo canal nico, compartido. Problema de acceso mltiple: cmo coordinar el acceso de mltiples nodos que envan y reciben a un canal de difusin compartido. Posibles soluciones: Protocolos de particionamiento del canal (TDM, FDM) Protocolos de acceso aleatorio (ALOHA, CSMA/CD) Protocolos de toma de turnos (TOKEN)

Qu es una VLAN ..?
Un agrupamiento logico de nodos compuesto por clientes y servidores que residen en un dominio comn de broadcast, sin ningn salto de router Si bien es un nico dominio de broadcast, los diferentes nodos no necesitan estar conectados al mismo switch ni estar en el mismo lugar fsico. Los nodos miembros de una VLAN aparecen como conectados a un nico bridge o switch de nivel 2. Los miembros de una VLAN pueden estar conectados al mismo switch pero no estn habilitados para ver todo el trfico de broadcast.

Mas disponibilidad de BW Liberar la red de los lmites fsicos: los recursos comunes no necesitan estar en el mismo espacio fsico Son barreras de contencin de Broadcast: se puede reemplazar Router por switch, con el beneficio en costos en tiempo de configuracin y dinero. Facilidad para cambio de ubicacin: Una VLAN nos posibilita una asignacin dinmica de recursos. Mayor facilidad para compartir recursos: Un servidor puede ser parte de multiples VLAN.
