Network of churches

providing shelter for families. 14 people at a time or 3 families (whichever comes first) Intense screening Maximum stay is 90 days

Beds and

belongings are moved into the church on Sunday afternoon , by a group of special men.

Storage closet provides needed basic supplies for our guests while at our church.

A shower is provided in the mens bathroom in the basement.

A Sunday School classroom is converted to a dining and gathering area as well as a space for our overnight hosts to sleep.

Each night a different

Sunday School class brings in supper.

A Sunday School class

provides all the extra snacks, breakfast, and lunch items.

What do people do?

Children will do homework. Adults will relax, talk, and prepare for the next day. In short, they will do what families do in the evening at home.

At Trinity also

have an Activities volunteer. sometimes they just play or read to the children (and adults!.)

The van picks

families up before 7 am and takes them to the day center. In the late afternoon, the families return to our church.

Guests are at the

Day Center (or at their jobs, looking for work or housing, etc.) from 7 A.M. to 5 P.M.

This is where guests can take

showers, keep belongings, do job searches and where they have an address. It is also where volunteers help out answering phones and other projectsensuring coverage if the director needs to be away at some point during the day.

Set Up Crew
At least six volunteers meet on the Sunday that Interfaith starts at 1:45pm to

unload beds and belongings down a ramp into the building. You will be setting up three family rooms and the host room, making the beds and getting the family kitchen, dining, and TV room ready. Evening Host
It is helpful if this is an experienced volunteer who will arrive at 5 pm and be

in charge until 8:15 pm when the Overnight host arrives. You will greet the guests, make sure all volunteers sign in, and organize dinner that is brought in by a Sunday School class. Overnight Host
This needs to be two volunteers with one being male and one being female if

at all possible who will sleep at the church. Ensure that everyone is up and ready with needed items by 7 am the next morning. They lock up the basement unless it is a weekend morning when they either stay at the church until 9 am (Saturday) or assist with breakdown on Sunday until 8 am.

Activities Host
From Sunday through Friday nights, the activity host volunteers from 6:30-

8:30 pm planning their own activity or just playing games or with toys with the children and/or adult guests. This is a great opportunity for families to volunteer! Saturday Hosts
From 9 am to 1 pm or from 1 pm to 5 pm, two volunteers are needed (each

shift) to be at the church or plan activities outside of the church for our families. Going to the playground, walks, or providing a movie outing are some of the easy things that our hosts do on Saturdays. Sunday Host
From 8 am to 12 noon or from noon to 4 pm, two volunteers are needed (each

shift) to be at the Day Center on the corner of Central Avenue and Milledge Road. Depending on the guests staying at the Day Center rather than visiting with their own church or family, it is often nice to plan some short activities with the guests, either at the Day Center or out in the community

Breakdown Crew
At least four volunteers are needed on the last day that Interfaith is at our

church to load beds and belongings, to return supplies to the storage closet, and to prepare the rooms for Sunday School classes. This shift is from 6:45 am to about 8 am. Laundry Hosts
From Monday to Sunday mornings, volunteers who can do a load or two of

laundry and return the fresh linens to the church are needed. They will be washing the host bed sheets as well as any soiled linens from our guests. They will not do personal laundry for our guests. Times are entirely flexible but clean laundry must be returned prior to 7 pm to the basement of the church.
