Objective :
To Analyse the given mobile phone bill to find the usage pattern in order to come up with the best deal, saving up on billing consumption.

Tools Used :
Advanced MS Excel

Pre-processing:
Raw data was obtained in the form of an excel file with numerous sheets relating to the call, SMS and internet usage information.

Overview of the Analysis


Problems Encountered :
Since the data was spread across multiple excel sheets, analysis needed additional efforts. Also, at few places headers were clubbed with the usable information which had to be rectified. Few cells were merged with other blank cells without any specific reason and that was taken care. Relevant Information was available in the same format in horizontal to the existing information which had to be cut and pasted below the data vertically for sorting purposes. Numbers in the cells were formatted as text and had to be changed for accurate counts

Data Preparation :
After the initial problems were corrected, Date-Time column had been split into Date and Time separately for ease of analysis. It was followed by identification of mobile number as Vodafone or non-Vodafone and landline or mobile based on given parameters i.e. "#" for non Vodafone, etc.

Dataset

The Call time had been divided into four categories namely: Morning talk :6am - 12pm Noon talk :12pm - 5pm Evening talk :5pm - 11pm Night talk :11pm - 6am

Day of the date had also been found to find the calling pattern Peak : Mon- Fri (7AM 7PM) Off-peak
Numbers have been cleaned from special characters, and country code to aid in the process of determining the frequently called numbers.
