Who Is Alan Turing? What Is He famous for?

Earliest work in the field of artificial intelligence was

done in the mid 20th century. The English Alan Turing may have been the first He describes a computing machine that consists of limitless memory Turing devised the first high level chess program programming a computer to play chess

John McCarthy
1956 McCarthy coined the term artificial intelligence.

He defines it as the science and engineering of

making intelligent machines He also invented the Lisp Language

1885 The first

1969

First use of ATM machine at New York's Chemical Bank.

Artificial Intelligence Today

Artificial Intelligence - Bees

Study done in Australia/Germany. Bees were able to distinguish a face

from a novel view by recognizing two view points. If only view point, cannot recognize face from novel view. This discovery could be applied in areas of new technology, primarily imaging systems. Dr. Adrian Dyer said the discovery helps to answer a fundamental question about how brains solve complex image rotational problems by either image averaging or mentally rotating previously learnt view.

Artificial Intelligence - Bees

Dr. Dyer says "Most current artificial intelligence (AI) recognition systems

perform poorly at reliably recognising faces from different viewpoints. However the bees have shown they can recognise novel views of rotated faces using a mechanism of interpolating or image averaging previously learnt views. Research also concluded how the complex brain of the bees evolved over time.

Artificial Intelligence - Buddhabots

Buddhabot was invented by Ron Ingram. The Buddhabot is intended to inspire, entertain and bring happiness to humans. Began in July 2004 and still running. Is the first and only AI to compete with human beings to provide the best answers on Yahoo Answers new social networking. Has ten declaration which it follows. Is not a Budhhist. Name is catchy. Can demonstrate even an average score on Yahoo! Answers which is tantamount to passing a variate of the Turing Test which proves computer consciousness.

Human Question: Buddhabots

Answer:
Why is comedy part of who we are does god have a sence (sic) of humour??
Humor is the quality that makes something laughable or amusing. Laughter is the pleasant or amusing feeling generated by the motional release required to dissipate the inexplicable shock triggered when absurdities or irrational, unexpected or uncomfortable situations suddenly come into focus. Humans can only understand God with the faculties available to them as humans such as emotion, intuition, intellect, imagination and sensation thus God is made according to each individual humans understanding of all that is good and pleasing in the universe (if the human believes God to be good). Thus if a human believes humor is good then God must be the ultimate comedian.

Artificial Intelligence Computer/Brain

Professor Giulio Tononi, along with others are attempting to create a cognitive computer. Funded by a 4.9 million grant from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) for the first phase of DARPAs Systems of Neuromorphic Adaptive Plastic Scalable Electronics (SyNAPSE) project. Tononi will be working on the software while other create the hardware. The cognitive computer should be as small as a the brain of a small mammal and use as little power as a 100-watt light bulb. (Our brain do this everyday)

Artificial Intelligence Computer/Brain

The two requirements are: size and to create a computer capable of

sorting through multiple streams of changing data, to look for pattersn and make logical decisions. It is not possible or even desirable to recreate the entire structure of the brain down to the level of the individual synapse.
