The verb is perhaps the most important part of the sentence. A verb or compound verb asserts something about the subject of the sentence and express actions, events, or states of being. The verb or compound verb is the critical element of the predicate of a sentence.
Verbs
are words that usually indicate an action performed by a person, animal or thing. Verbs are words variables that can occur in many different ways, called "verbal forms The set of all forms of a verb is called conjugation. There are ways to use the auxiliary verb "to have" plus the past participle of the verb and are called "compound forms", which do not use the auxiliary verb are called "simple forms".
In each of the following sentences, the verb or compound verb is highlighted: Dracula bites his victims on the neck
-The verb "bites" describes the action Dracula takes. In early October, Giselle will plant twenty tulip bulbs. -Here the compound verb "will plant" describes an action that will take place in the future.
My first teacher was Miss Crawford,but I remember the janitor Mr. Weatherbee more vividly.
-In this sentence, the verb "was" (the simple past tense of "is") identifies a particular person and the verb "remember" describes a mental action.

VERBOS AUXILIARES
Son los que auxilian a los verbos lxicos: En la formacin de tiempos compuestos: be y have I am writing I have finished Para ser la negativa o la interrogariva: I dont like it
Aportaciones matrices(verbos modales) Can: indica habilidad I can sing. Must: obligacin. You must go
VERBOS LXICOS
Tienen significados propios, hay dos tipos: Regulares: Las tres formas iguales cut/cut/cut Irregulares: Las tres formas diferentes drive/drove/driven Dos formas iguales: think/thought/thougth
Mary is 20 years old / Mara tiene 20 aos I am 21 / Yo tengo 21 aos How old are you? / Cuntos aos tienes? For expressing the sensations is also used the verb 'to be' and is equivalent to 'have' Spanish. Are you hungry? / Tienes hambre? He is thirsty / Tiene sed Also to talk about the weather. In this case translates to 'do:
It's windy / Hace viento It's very cold / Hace mucho fro
The all verbs are used to express the actions on the subject. Can be in his base form or conjugates in past simple, past participle and present progressive.
The gerund form is usually by adding -ing to the end of the verb. I am walking.---------Yo estoy caminando. They are laughing.---------Ellos se estn riendo. If the verb ends with a silent e as in the word smile, and falls before adding the final ing. Jacob is smiling.--------- Jacobo esta sonriendo
