Syndrome
A syndrome is a pattern or collection of symptoms that together indicates a disease

What is Syndrom X ?
collection of symptoms of overall poor health that are also risk factors that increase a persons chance of developing CVD and diabetes

Individuals with MSyn have a 3040 percent probability of developing diabetes and/or CVD within 20 years

MSyn is a complex web of metabolic factors that are associated with a 2-fold risk of CVD and a 5-fold risk of diabetes.

Insulin resistance
Insulin resistance is a particularly important

part of the Metabolic Syndrome equation It can be defined as an impaired response to the physiological effects of insulin, including those on glucose, lipid, and protein metabolism, and the effects on vascular endothelial function.

1.

The term Metabolic Syndrome is a way of identifying individuals at high risk for the development of heart disease and diabetes

2. 3. With the help of various definitions of metabolic

syndrome , high risk group should be identified

4. They should receive education and counseling on

lifestyle modification, and all risk factors for heart disease should be treated promptly and seriously.
