Started in 1865 when Fredrik Idestam established a ground wood pulp mill Over the past 150 years, Nokia has evolved Electronics section was started in 1960 Nokia 1100 was launched in 2003 Nokia was first to combine mobile with game console in Nokia N-gage. Nokia Asha was launched on 4 Aug. 2012

Downfall of Nokia
Delay in giving up the symbian platform Nokia never competed with Apple Nokia failed against Samsung Nokia failed against low-end phones It was going through tough times internally

Conclusion
Nokia was successful before but lacked innovation and did not react to competition Microsoft bought Nokia for 5.44 billion which is quite less. The acquisition of nokia handset by microsoft was done for the purpose of reducing cost, innovation, improving competitive position and diversification.
